What's new

Lauri for George rumors heating up.

I think that if we had gotten the #1 or 2 pick, we could have gone in to win now mode, in which case they would have been perfect.

This off season has shown that if you wanted a player like Collins/Sexton, you could pretty much get them for free. I get the idea behind the quick pivot, but realistically Lauri was the only hard one to replace and you could argue it's not really that difficult to get a player of Lauri's caliber on the trade market. Players at the borderline all star level are always available.

There was really no "need" to hard pivot into win now mode had we won the lottery anyways. Keeping Lauri only made sense if we had lotto luck, and you could argue that even if we had lotto luck trading him+others was a stronger position.

DA era was a pretty big failure marked by indecision + greed.

I 100% believe this too. If we got Flagg, I think Collins and probably Sexton stay to either go for it or trade for another piece to shoot for it.

lauri playing like he is right now in international ball, typical improvement of the third year players after their sophomore slumps, ace being ace, they better trade lauri or they might lose dat pick.

mind you, i'd rather have lauri than the pick but i'm pretty lonely on the 'tanking sucks' island.

keyonte is going to be better than sexton, flip is going to be better than collins, hendricks is going to be better than all the scrubs we let go of, and the tank is done for if they keep kevin love. yeah, he's washed up but if he gets like 15 mins a game he will push us over the top about ten times. remember, he is a former all star. the reason we drafted these guys is because they were going to be good, and if they are the team is going to win more than anyone in the front office wants them to.
