Do the Jazz simply do everything they can to resign Favors, match any offer on Exum and basically bring the same team back heading into next season?
I really think the evidence we have available leans in favor of doing just that. Once healthy, the Jazz have been on a pace that would see them contend for one of the top 2 seeds in a very talented Western Conference. Obviously, we’d be bringing this squad back and hoping for the best injury wise, but another year with these guys in Quin’s system, another year of these guys playing together can’t be a bad thing.
Not to mention the fact that Mitchell should come back even better than last year, and that Lindsay has a pretty good track record of drafting good contributors in the 20’s.
I ask all this because I think the consensus with all us Jazz fans is that we are 1 or 2 big moves away from competing for a title. Now I’m starting to wonder if the only thing Utah needs is a stretch of good luck injury wise, the continued (and expected) yearly improvement of Mitchell as he ascends toward his ceiling, some improvement from Exum, and continuing to draft competent players at the positions of need.
