it wasn't the trade but the switch,Kanter thrived at 6th man,OKC showed that AND as already shown

It didn't stop when Gobert was starting. The Jazz were 33-21 last year in games Gobert started.

yet i bet your one of the ones who says Gobert regressed and is a liability on offense ,Gobert gave alot of salutes when Exum was feeding him lobs and he got alot more blocks with Exum in front of him ....both we saw less of last season

That stat doesn't mean Exum was the best player on the team. It means the Jazz were THAT much better without Trey Burke on the court.

No, I wasn't. In fact I made a lengthy thread last season to illustrate how much better the Jazz were with Gobert vs without.

Don't get me wrong, Exum starting helped by virtue of the fact that he was not Trey Burke. But the real game changer was starting Gobert.

Injuries. The Jazz were 33-27 last year in games Gobert started.

What was the record when both exum and Gobert started? Better than that. Gobert is a larger factor but Exum made this team better as a starter. Better than any PG the last 2 years and he was an extremely young rookie.

this is a stupid statement ,

Exum's 6'6" frame and ultra-quick feet have already made him a nightmare matchup for opposing point guards who are used to having a much easier time getting past the perimeter.

His ability to thwart opposing offenses at the point of attack has had a clear trickle-down effect on the entire Jazz defense.

I didn't make this about Trey Burke - you did when you brought up Exum's net rating last year. It essentially compares the Jazz when Exum is on the court vs when Burke is on the court.

I have no doubt George Hill is going to be in the guard rotation with Exum,Hood and Burks and that the Jazz will have one of the best Guard rotation in the NBA next season.Hill will eliminate playing time for Mack and Neto and be similar to Alec Burks in playing time.Some games Hill/Burks close out games if Exum/Hood struggle.I just don't see the Jazz pairing up Hood with Hill if the Jazz view Exum/Hood as their backcourt.Separating them is going to make them better? For now and the future?

I think the Jazz will ship one of these guards/wings out. They have too many of them and one would want the players to get along and, for that to happen, everybody has to be somewhat content with their own playing time.

Hill is coming in to (probably) be the starting PG and Exum is the PG of the future. Hayward is the face of the franchise, so he stays also. Hood showed much promised and actually shared the scoring load with Hayward last season, but he is somewhat similar to Hayward in some ways. Burks, too, showed promise two seasons ago, but his development has been slowed by injuries and he seems - unfortunately - to be injury-prone. Neto and Mack are little impact players. They could be in, they could be out; it doesn't really matter. I think some decision will be made regarding either Hood or Burks; one of them will be shipped out before the next trade deadline, perhaps even before the start of the season. Personally, I would ship Burks out while there is still hope around the league about his eventual development into a quasi all-star.

My opinion is that if you ship Burks now you may be "selling low" due to injury concerns.

No way Exum starts.He was just cleared for contact. It will take at least 6 month before he has no psychologic and physical limitations due to his knee. So if he starts it will be around All star break.

Psychological limitations? The guy was more disturbed on court then Brandon Rush. Them saying Exum is clear future are up in the night! Jazz just traded for one of the better guards in the league. No way Exum sees more then 20 minutes a night with Neto an Mack on board. Trey is a goner.

Here's a comparison with fellow draftee Jabari Parker : Jabari tore is ACL on (12-15-14) and 11 months and 3 weeks later(11-4-15) Jabari is making his debut. on Feb.29,14 1/2 months later Jabari is scoringa career high 36 points.
Dante tore is ACL on (8-4-15),surgery (9-3-15).The start of the 2016-2017 it will be 15 full months since his surgery.

So if his leg is good and he's in 5 on 5's and he has team mates summering in Utah and he plays with them and against them ,why is he any different than Jabari in thinking he can still play ball.
