What's new

levels of fandom

Jazz
BYU
USC
Raiders

Most gear in my closet definitely goes to USC though because I have relatives that send me boxes of new SC crap like every month. It's gotten so bad that I just take a lot of it to DI immediately or donate it to my local Community Action.

Same way with Miami gear. My Aunt and Uncle both taught English there (until about 3 years ago), so my family has about 15 years of Hurricans gear.

For real? Hook a brotha up!

1. Miami Hurricanes football (guy I know in my church played there, so I liked them when I was kid and just kept it up)
2. Green Bay Packers
3.Duke Blue Devils (let the bandwagon comments begin...I just like the way they play and how Coach K coaches, also liked any team Bobby Knight coached)
4. Utah Jazz
5. Cincinnati Reds (growing up was a Mariners/Ken Griffey Jr fan since they were close to me, when he got traded I traded allegiances and stuck with them...plus I like their logo)

I like a lot of teams from different areas because in Montana we don't really have any teams. Of course I support my local college above everybody else, but they're small so they don't really count. I'm also more of a football guy than basketball, I'm an overall sports nut though.

Crying and bullying. Bad back and choking players. Big nose and red sweaters. Hitler looking dude and the red-nosed drunk.

... keep this going.

I actually really like hockey too (or I should say, I like the idea of playing it). If I lived in the North I would have definitely have given it a go as a kid, but just don't live in the climate for it. But because I have never really played it, I never could really get into watching it.

Its quite a great sport, honestly. I am literally the only kid out of all of my friends who never played on any sort of hockey team, growing up in Edmonton.

My recommendation to you is to catch a few playoff games every year. Thats how I got into basketball. Try and catch a few game 6s or 7s every year in hockey, and you'll slowly get a grasp of the rules, and what not.

TRUE STORY: I met some famous hockey dude once (don't recall the name) and everyone was asking for his autograph. He was sitting next to me at the bar. I asked who he was and he acted flabbergasted .. that I didn't know. He asked if I ever watch hockey. I said no. He asked why. I said it's a sissy sport (expecting to get pummeled). He laughed. A sissy sport? I said, yeah, you guys 'skate.' Only sissies skate, I said. He was rolling .. because he knew he could just splatter my brains across the bar.

Then I suggested perhaps they widen the goal for more scoring .................. DON'T EVER SUGGEST THAT to a hockey player ... :(

Oh I have no doubt that Kentucky would pummel us this year. Still doesn't take away from the fact that K > Cal.

I think Duke could beat UK on a neutral court. They have the big men to match UK physically and the shooting to stretch their defense. MKG might smash y'all because of lack of SF though.
