What's new

Life - official thread

What's yours usually at? Do you have something strapped up to you to read it?
So I go to OrangeTheory. It's all interval based. The have heart rate monitors to track and display heart rate and calories and they display them via Bluetooth on TV screens. But I'm a cheap *** and haven't bought one. That's why I don't know what my calorie count and heart rate is at. I just know how hard I'm pushing myself.

Sounds similar to Kubex. A friend of mine started that franchise and has explained it to me similary to what you have.

In bountiful?

I've been thinking about joining that one. Do you like it? I used to go to vasa on main Street, but I haven't been going this fall.
I freaking love it. It's kind of pricey, though. They give a free class as a trial, so there is no risk in trying it. But if you do decide to sign up, let me know before because I can get a referral reward.

Ok, I have to get motivated to do it for sure. My wife definitely wants to do it, she goes to the bountiful rec classes everyday, and feels like she needs more than those. My cell is 8013013218, text me and I will have her use your name for a referall.

I just perused their website. From what I saw, they are similar, and they're not.
At OTF, it's group training. Everybody is following the same workout. Certified personal trainers are leading each workout and explaining exactly what we do. The location I go to could have a maximum of 39 people in a class. The class is broken up into groups. One group will start on treadmills, one group will start on rowers, and one group will start in the weight floor (dumbells, benches, TRX straps, Ab Dollies, and medicine balls. No barbells). Most classes when I go have a number in the low twenties, so we usually only break up into two groups. The segments are broken up into blocks and it always varies. One day we could spend twenty five straight minutes on the treadmill varying our speed and/or incline while the other group works the weights/straps and mixes in rowing. The next day we could jump back forth between the treadmills and rowers while the other group is doing weights, etc.
That's mostly what I love about it so much. There is always someone there telling me what to do and pushing me, without the gym bro yelling and crap. I've always known how to workout hard, but not what to do. It is always a different workout, so it changes and challenges in different ways.

About to see if I can go sub 7 minutes for 2K. Haven't done any cardio in over three weeks doe.
The second half of my workout this morning mixed rowing with weights. I did 600 meters (don't remember the time), then did some weights. Then 500 meters (1:31.4) and did some weights. Then 400 meters (1:09.2) and finished with more weights.
Considering I spent the first 25 or so minutes running hills, I feel good with those times.
