I'm guessing that Exum running the pick and roll with Gobert will be more effective than Conley. For one thing, Exum's size and length makes it much easier to deliver passes in the paint, especially passes that require pinpoint timing after the big commits or doesn't commit to the ball handler. Exum has been very good at delivering lobs to Rudy at the rim. The other thing is that it's much easier for Exum to finish at the rim than Conley. Exum's length lets him just reach out and lay the ball in, while Conley has to flip up an off-balance lay-up or floater.

The main advantage that Conley has is the ability to hit 3s off the dribble or step into a mid-range jumper if the defense sags off him, but so far he hasn't been hitting those shots at a very high rate.

I think Mike and DM both need to take an extra search dribble instead of floaters or back out and reset. The floater should be a last 3 seconds of the shot clock option... too often it looks like that is the shot we actually want.

That curl he does around the Rudy screen at the top of the key towards the basket seems to work like every time. If the big drops then Bojan is tall and has a running start... Rudy is there to clean up stuff. If they drop another player we have shooters Bojan can find... I need to see that action at least twice as much as I'm currently seeing it.

It's amazing that we've had this gift drop out of the sky that's efficiently scoring, being aggressive, and often kick-starting a stale AF offense, yet we don't seem to acknowledge it at all and let him go up to, what feels like, 5-6 minutes without even touching the ball.

There should be 5 plays (with counters) that each of us on JFC know by heart, all of which feature getting Bojan the ball where and how he wants it. Instead, there’s the curl play and whenever the offense finds him in the corner. I haven’t seen any patterns with him as the primary ball handler, but there have been a few PnRs with him and Gobert.

In a perfect world we would play Niang and he would hit threes, improve his value and we trade him for a 2nd. Then we sign the nastiest PF/C we can find. Unfortunately he's been playing like Squeak Scolari.

I would say start Ingles but Royce has been really solid offensively. The risk is Royce's production drops on an offensively cruddy 2nd unit. Though one could argue Ingles' playmaking skills would help the starters.

I think things would get better with Exum at the point and Mudiay at the two - we need Mudiay's consistent scoring. And with that back court Exum can guard the better of the other team's backcourt players. I think Exum can really help the second unit - I know his scoring is going to take some time but his defense and passing could really improve things.

We really need Davis back as well. The guy was a vacuum cleaner when it came to getting rebounds and his defense is better than Bradley's (I love Bradley and his bench scoring/rebounding and he's played nice defense in spurts but he's had some bad defensive games where he's not recognizing what's happening - we can all agree on that). Snyder and his team had better work with Bradley on defense A LOT - if he can recognize things better his reaction time will improve and he can at least cause the other team's shooter to alter his shot/pass the ball away.

The team is dealing with a lot of issues and it's not just one player. People have been making Conley and Bradley the main scapegoats though 3/4 of the players on this team are not playing consistent enough.

I'd like to see Mitchell in a ball dominant role without Mudiay on the floor (who I like but the ball completely sticks to him)

Exum and Royce may be redundant. Bogey slots in for either perfectly of course. But I was trying to make a somewhat realistic bench unit.

If you look at his per 36 stats, as a rookie he averaged 10.7 points, last year 9.2 points, and this year 7.8 points. That's despite having his best year (by far) from the field and from the three point line.

I think defensive stopper is best used against starters. I’m not sure what the best use of Joe/Royce is... I think Joe is missing shots he usually makes. Having a great screen setter roll man would really help him though.

I think his FG% and 3PT% could drop. If Snyder didn't think it would then I would want to see Ingles starting in hopes it will help him play better. The dream is to figure out a way for Ingles to play well and for Royce to continue playing well.

You can't compare last year to this year - it's a very different team - the 2nd unit has three new players (Mudiay, Davis/Bradley (Bradley played 36 minutes last season)), Green. Putting Royce with a 2nd unit where Mudiay is the only guy scoring could easily drop Royce's great shooting numbers - with Mitchell and Bogey one could argue Royce is getting more spacing to do his thing offensively.
