What's new

lob #2

Yeah Paul George is a pipe dream. Honestly I don't think we even need to aim that high to fix our issues. One decent point guard and getting favors back would make a world of difference. Could certainly add wing help too to take Cjs minutes.

Pacers are 23-19 though, so no reason to think they would trade their franchise player for an injury prone 6th man and a PF with back issues. You would have to think a George/Hayward/Gobert team would start winning a ton of games so our 1st round picks wouldnt be that valuable.

for me, I'm just concerned that we're going to treadmill as presently constructed. I'd live with Hayward or Favors getting traded if it brought back a player on the next tier.

And I'm bored right now.

fun thread, NAOS. We know you've supported Paul George from the get-go, and we hope your boredom was quickly salved.

Granted Utah only played Charlotte and Minny, but you can certainly see the value Favors has. IMO, we vastly underrate him. He's at least a top-10 PF and probably the best backup C in the league. Could be very close to 20-10 and is a beast defensively. Tbh, I think he's the Jazz' best 2-way player.

Ya if favors doesn't get hurt we definitely win the recent Sacramento buzzer beater game, the New York OT game, the Charlotte double OT game, and the Detroit close finish... And that's just in the last 10 days or so.
Add in a handful of other games we would have won and I figure we would have a winning record right now. Maybe 24-22 or something.

You want it, you just don't know it yet.
Nope. I would not trade Joe Ingles for Boogie unless I had a guarantee from another team that they would give us something for Boogie once he was acquired by the Jazz. My fanhood would go on hiatus the minute he joined the team until he left.

Favors is the best player on this roster. IMO it's not even that close.

I think these things constantly change. It could look like Hayward one year, then Favors the next, then back again.

The playoffs will play a big factor in how we look at them too. When we finally get to watch it, we can see who rises to the occasion, and who disappears.

It will be interesting to see how it plays out in ten years.

Gobert is just a reliable offensive move from being the best player on the team.
