Locker Room Cleanout -- 1280 and Webcast

Kanter:

Said he doesnt think about what he does on the court.
Stopped smiling when saying he wasnt worried about free agency.
Wants to go somewhere that makes him happy.
Likes OKC but didnt sound all that comitted, wants to look around.
Lol, said he didnt care about how many minutes he gets or money just wants to be happy.

How could anyone pay a dude with a smile like that.

Happiness is a state of mind Kantcer. He'll probably never figure that out though.

Hood interview with Locke:

Thought it was great season but injury was frustrating
Jazz are on peoples radar and they grew a lot as a team
Felt great and body held up well with his increased minute at the end until the last couple games he felt fatigued
Jazz are 1 of 2 teams doing a rehab treatment with foot and ankle they cant talk about but its helping a lot
Thought he was ready to contribute right away, the injury helped the game slow down because he could sit back and watch after playing out of control for awhile
Quin introduced him to changing pace and being patient in the lane
Roy was one of his favorite players growing up. Locke thinks he looks a lot like Brandon Roy (that comparison makes me nervous with Hoods injuries might be a little to accurate) Hood likes the Roy comparison
Teammates were very supportive of him
This summer is going to be huge for him and the team and is excited about working on some stuff. He is going to focus a lot on his body but also all around game
Off season is going to florida to ING academy then SLC before summer league, summer league then unsure after that, will squeeze in P3.
Was trying to shoot duel handed on floaters quinn asked why and hood said thats what you are supposed to. Quin replied that he is supposed to make shots, use his left handedness as an advantage.
Being an all around good player came up a lot
Realized he could be a good NBA player and belonged after injuries and played well
Was caught off guard by closing out games as the ball handler and didnt know what Quin was thinking but stepped up and teammates really supported him
Locke said Quin is not a coach who came off a coaching tree and trying to be like someone. He is just himself and doesnt do things because other successful coaches do it. Also said earlier that Quin doesnt want player to copy other players and do things because other players do them. He wants them to use their strengths and do their own thing.

Hayward mentioned that he knew this year would be different on day one of camp. That he walked in and they sat down for a team meeting to start off. That Snyder immediately set the tone of the year. Talks about how Snyder appraoched Hayward after he was hired and approached him in a way that works for Hayward. Talked about family and life before BBall.

To me that shwos that Snyder did a little bit of prep and knew how to appraoch his players.

Snyder's biggest asset is personnel skills. He is amazing at finding out what makes a player tick, what the player wants and using that to help the player get better and more importantly the team get better. We are lucky to have him after Corbin. Night and day difference.

D Favs:
They want me to watch Tim Duncan and old KG, to increase my patience in the post.

Locke:
That's not who I think you are. I think you are Amare Stoudemire in Phoenix.

D Favs:
OK, I'll tell them.

I agree with Locke. Coach Krystkowiak has compared Favors to Amare. Said Favors reminded him athletically of Amare when he coached Favors.

I don't think Favors is nearly as explosive as Amare back in the day. Everyone can learn something from Duncan and KG, but there are many differences between them and Favors as well.

I only caught the end, but it seemed to me that Trey was very upbeat, confident and engaged. I wondered if he was feeling a little unloved after being moved to the bench.

I think Tre really shines next year. He was our only scored off the bench. I think he will be much more efficient with Burks next year. I'm excited for him.

I think everyone on the board is hoping the same. I know I am, but very cautiously.

Snyder employs one of my favorite mantras regarding players: play them where they win. If you have a wing with good creation skills, then let him run some point. If you're not as good with your right as you are with your left, then use you left more. Seems simple, but lots of coaches try to get players to do things they can't, rather than use them where they win.

We have a chance to be very special.

I agree with QS skills. We need the right type of player.

This is where Hayward is a willing team player even as our star. Most stars are not willing to sacrifice numbers to win. This makes all the tier 2 and tier 3 players want to play with him because they will be allowed to shoot.

Our chemistry is so goo right now, I almost don't want to break it up at all.

It is going to be enough of a chemistry challenge to get Burks back in.....

I think if we did nothing, we will be at least a 6 seed.

Do not underestimate chemistry and buy into system.

We sign 1 jackass, cards can tumble....

I thought that was Ty's thing?
