Would you rather have Troutbum as your political representative or Hannibal Lecter as your personal chef?

I think this one is funnier. . . .

^^^I'm thinking we need to send the Federales up to that ranch of babe's. No telling what he is really doing, making or growing up there.

No need to elaborate except this: Alex Smith GONE. Good.

You're one of my favorite posters Mo, but this is borderline 'tarded.

Smith got the Niners to the NFC championship season before last, and was having a similar campaign until the concussion. I fail to see any evidence that suggests that the Niners would have done worse with him at the helm.

That said, I have no problem with Kaep taking over. He is a dynamic player, and with some experience will do great things. He has a much greater upside than Smith ever did. So I'm okay with things shaking out the way they did.

However, suggesting Smith was a hindrance to the fortunes of the team is wildly inaccurate, IMO.

^^We agree on most things, except that horrible logo that is third from the left in your sig. :p I expect you to have a bias towards Smith. Fact is, the 9'ers failed miserably in Smith's first few seasons not only due to bad coaching, but because Smith was turnover prone. He has small hands for his size and can't grip the ball like he should. I suspect the grip is also why he can't make throw back across the field or deep with precision and strength. As for the games, I doubt Smith could have won at NE, or in the playoffs against Green Bay, Atlanta or had the near miss against Baltimore. Smith - and I don't say this as a criticism - is a "game manager." He learned to be an expert at making the short throws and to get rid of the ball when pressured. At the same time, he's managed his scrambling and is much, much better at protecting the ball instead of trying to expose it with a one-handed grip when trying to run out of trouble. Alec will not bring a team back with his arm. What he will do, is not lose a game if you surround him with a stout defense and decent running game. He's a smart QB who has overcome many of his physical limitations. Ask him to get you a 1st down on 3rd and 10; he'll probably check down to the TE or RB who is 6-7 yards deep and hope that player can get 3-4 yards after the catch. He doesn't use his WR's much as they generally outrun his arm. In sum, he's a good player who can look great in a very specific system because the QB ratings are skewed towards completion percentage and TD/Int ratios.

I don't disagree with any of this. But that isn't my point. The Niners got to the NFC champ game (and should have gone to the SB, minus a couple of bonehead special teams plays) with Smith as their QB. So, he wasn't a hindrance.

I'm not arguing that he is an elite QB, or better than Kaepernick, or that he can carry a team. You're original statement intimated that Smith was bad for the 49ers. I'm merely say he wasn't.

But it's all academic at this point.

= Has meth lab in basement= Has marijuana plants behind shed.

I used to have my phone tapped by the DEA. Once upon a time I worked for a chemical company that sold some of the starting materials for meth.

I hate meth. and Ritalin.

I have neighbors who are meth head and weed weanies. If I had anything going on I'd be robbed blind every time I came to town.

well, I have to give some room for this kind of point of view. The KC Chiefs are making him the showcase QB for the upcoming season and expecting great things. I agree more with MoTown simply because there was talent sitting on the bench that was worthwhile enough to keep. Just like Big Al Jefferson.

JK, babe. I never thought you had anything illegal going on. I worked with a guy when I was much younger who was a Vietnam vet and smoked weed on the job, In his case, you actually WANTED him to smoke as it calmed him down. He'd often drive up to Northern California and we'd always ask if he was going up there to "check on his crop." He did say that in a few places you had to call ahead and tell people you were coming as they didn't respond too well to strange cars driving through.
