but, seriously. . . .

my sunday school lesson today was about idolatry. And like most truly wonderful things in life that we could go wild about, it is a shame to move God off the stage and just rave about other people/stuff. well maybe better expressed as "about stuffed people", consider the essence of the spirit that is given to support life in this frame of existence.

Thanks and what a great subject for today's lesson. I think we all need to be reminded from time to time to stay true to our spouse.

"Rebel Yell" and "Eyes Without a Face" were ok, but IMO, Billy was certainly not good enough to bump The Almighty off the stage. Maybe other rockers were more worthy of our worship, however.

well, I can't speak to the youngblood rage anymore. Probably something to do with testosterone or some other mind-altering substance. But I appreciate your effort to understand what I'm trying to talk about.

God knows the truth.

I'm dedicating this page to this statement by PKM. . . . and maybe responding as well to Spazz for calling me a chicken**** cya guy on my doctrinal flight in "Brighamite" godhead concepts.

God indeed knows the truth. Solid self-awareness, objective self appraisals ongoing, and in fact being so compactly coherent in every aspect of His person, He probably hasn't woken up once in the last six thousand years with any doubts about Himself at all.

A lot of critics of Mormonism have never understood why a Mormon can believe in God the way Brigham Young did. Brigham Young was a Methodist of some learning, and made the observation from his experience that he never met anyone who could answer his questions about God until Joseph Smith did.

Sydney Rigdon was a proto-Baptist minister with strong Trinitarian notions, who gave way as well when Joseph Smith published his account of meeting the Jehovah of the Old Testament and His Son Jesus, the promised Messiah and our Saviour.

There are many instances of where Sydney Rigdon and many others changed their views. . . . every person associated with the early testimonies concerning the Book of Mormon, and every person close enough to Joseph Smith to be aware of his comings and goings. ... everyone gave way when the Prophet Joseph explained it to them, who had anything to do with the early Mormon history.

General Authorities of the LDS Church will dodge the question and profess actual ignorance of who God is, unless they somehow have a faint grasp of the notion that we have a Heavenly Father and a Saviour. They might not think the details of the scripture are as accurate as their own notions, or they may just want to be easily understandable to the general public. Not many of the current staff have related personal experience as Joseph Smith did.

But Joseph Smith was right. Joseph Smith knew who God is, and who our Saviour is.

The reason a lot of people converted to Mormonism is because of that doctrinal belief. . . . after having questions in their reading of the scripture. . . and realizing that only Mormonism is actually consistent with the Bible on that point. A fact that is still as true today as it was 180 years ago.

The Bible says Enoch walked with God. No intimation of anything but being just that physically close and associated in terms of daily activities.

Enoch knew who God is.

The Bible says God showed Noah how to build the ark. No intimation of some vague "impressions" but actual instruction, like any carpenter who's done the job before can show an apprentice.

Noah knew who God is.

The Bible says GOD, YHVH, came walking up the road and turned in to visit Abraham. And his family.

Abraham, Sarah, and the servants of the house knew who God is.

The Bible says Moses talked to God, and that God inscribed some commandments on a set of stone tablets with His finger. Mentions hands, back parts, face. . . . of God. Moses tried to get some seventy men from the Camp to come up on Mount Sinai to see who God is. . . . . Moses saw God.

Moses knew who God is.

David, after sinning grievously, grew despondent. . . . and wrote a lot of Psalms to try to bring himself back to the spirit he once had, of being close to God. In Psalm 110 he spoke of the Saviour who would make the atonement for sin for mankind, relating that YHVH (Jehovah) spoke to Jesus and said "Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool."

David knew who God is. And who our Saviour is.

The Apostle Paul quoted David in his exposition to the Hebrews concerning the identity of their God and their Messiah. . . . .

Paul also met the resurrected Saviour.

Evidently, Paul knew who God is.

Daniel prophesied of the last Judgment. . . .. describing how the Messiah would be brought before "the Ancient of Days", and how the Messiah would there and then be crowned and receive the Kingdom, to the praise of all the righteous.

Daniel knew who God is, and who the Messiah is.

And, evidently, a whole lot of other people will realize that fact one day.
