no kidding. For two years I played net war with a dude who would always keep his off-topic disruptive crap on the bottom of the last page of every thread, and he worked for the owner of the site. It was all a way to just flat out dominate the threads and keep Mormons from being seen or heard.

turning the page was the only way to get back in view.

nobody ever looks at page two. . . . well, let's say, not one in ten will. . . .

dude would delete his work when it got rolled, and copy it onto the new page.

So anyway, the sltrib management wouldn't have fired him or curbed his program anyway, but just to keep folks from having any evidence left of his method, he'd keep his post count down to less than the number of "friends" he had. ha ha.
