Thats pretty ambitious. Those three guys you are comparing them to are possibly the best three all time. Maybe a tier down from there? Like Drexler, Pierce and Scottie Pippen?

Obviously ambitious, but my point was that next years draft is our best CHANCE to get a star player

Why? Trey Burke looks dang good. Do you think we can do better with the two picks? I remember before the tourney, this exact scenario was brought up, and I thought it was crazy. For some reason now, it makes more sense to me.

I think burks, McCollum, and another guy (maybe that deing dude from Louisville) combined are better than burke by himself.

Burks might even be better than burke

too bad we don't have someone like Gerald Wallace to trade to a crappy nets team. Hopefully Lindsay can swing a great deal and get one of those guys. The top 6-7 sound epic to me.

I could see that. Burke did move up in the draft an awful lot just in the tourney. Maybe he is not as good as the hype right now. McCollum looks very good too though.

My ideal situation, we move up in the ping pong balls to like 6 or 7 and draft Burke ourselves, and then take a solid guy with the GSW pick.

Hell ya, GO LOTTERY!
(I think that the lottery is only for the 1,2,3 picks or something though, so if we don't get 1,2, or 3 then we stay at 14)

If the core4 start and play tons of minutes, and make the playoffs..... Means they are really good and made huge strides.from this year

I thought it was just that you couldnt fall further than you are out of the top three? If we can't win up to 6 or 7, then let's just win the first pick! screw going for mid round picks!

Suck or make playoffs. Nothing between.

Lets hope so, but the Jazz seem intent on continued mediocrity. Off season will tell. If we keep anyone of Ty, Al, or Sap then it is groundhog day, fighting for 7th, 8th, or 9th seed year in year out.

Why would you want another high draft pick and have to wait another 2 to 4 years to see how they work out? People seem to always look at the draft as a magic bullet, where we are going to nab Magic-Larry-and-Michael in one fell swoop and go on to glory, while the actuallity is that most drafts for the Jazz are a big bust. Plus, we already have 4 high draft picks and likely won't be able to keep all 4 anyway.

Because the draft is the ONLY way we can get a star. Not to mention next years draft will be one of the strongest in recent memory. Assuming we miss the playoffs, we absolutely have to do anything we can to get a top pick in that draft. If we get a late lottery pick (10-14 range), I would package it with one of our Core4 plus future picks to get into the top 5. Not sure if that would be enough though.

The Jazz are not trading Burks, probably not for Burke straight up. He is just too rare of a physical specimen. He played out of position at PG most of the year, and did a better job than arguably all three of our vet PGs. Judging his performance and potential this year, when he was clearly ordered to just feed Al, is laughable.

I think the Jazz would trade Burks for Burke and pick up another SG or combo in the draft. The question is whether the team that wants to draft Burke would agree to this, and my guess is that the answer is no.

From what im hearing about next years draft, we have a better chance to nab magic-larry-Michael type player in next years draft than in any other.

Wiggins=Michael, Jabari=larry, Harrison (I think)= magic
How word is it in the 2k that the first tandem of superstars appear in 10 years. I have no patience for so, I'd rather play russian roulette, trade one of the c4 n our picks this year to get a future pick from next year from a team we assume will be crap.

Those who would rather see the team suck for another year than make the playoffs with C4 should seriously pull their head out of their ***.

I think it depends on who they fill out the roster with. If they have the core 4 plus rookies and minimum contract guys they will suck. If they sign a few decent guys they will be better than this year for sure. The core four plus a decent point guard would be a solid starting lineup. But a bench of Murphy, Evans, demarre, Watson and a rookie would get eaten alive.
