The article you linked to says that the total amount of incentives paid for fossil fuels is four times the total amount paid for renewables. The amount of energy produced by fossil fuels dwarfs that produced by renewables. I have a feeling if we saw it broken down by subsidies per kilowatt hour of energy produced we would see that the subsidy for renewables is many, many times greater than any subsidies for renewables.

No argument there. But it also means that more people should be taking advantage of renewable incentives. Clearly oil companies use what is available to them.

Bro. As someone in the thick of it, you shouls be able to immediately link solid info to government sites rather than articles that are years old.
Srs.

It is 2 years old but the incentives have maintained similar amounts. Plus the IEA makes a good point. Shouldn't we be pulling fossil fuel incentives and increasing renewable incentives if we want to clean up the earth?

Lol. That cartoon is really funny, but I have lots of friends in oil coal counties in Utah. I can guarantee you that this transition is not making their lives better. The economy in those counties is really suffering.

Correct, 10% discount and feel good about the energy you're buying. No upfront cost, insurance, maintenance...nada. All subsidy's go the developer which makes the discount possible. No ownership.

Nice door to door sales pitch. Exactly what I needed today.
