The reason this isn't just about free speech is because of how Sterling has treated blacks in the past.
The only "racism" that matters is when it comes out in your behavior towards others.
I know people who express stereotypes about races but when they interact with people of that race they treat them the same as everyone else.
This is not the case with Sterling.
On the other hand...
The mob mentality of this situation is what is scary for America.
How quickly the public mob puts on their hoods and robes and gets ready for livelihood lynch parties.
Then again
I didn't know about his rep but the players and NBA must have known of it, so the lynch mob was warranted although not because of his speech...
