Looks like Kanter or PG

Well we have to consider whether he would want to re-sign with us. See what Dirk & Dallas can do.

Do you want someone who would want to leave any chance he gets?

If you make this one of the factors then we might as well just move this team out of Utah.

We might as well eliminate most of the league.

There are very few places most of these guys "want" to be in 24/7 for 365 days out of the year. But that's the beauty of the modern age. A player can play in Utah and live in Miami if he wants.

I agree. Maybe because I'm not 'from' Utah (though live here now), I don't really care if the guy would choose the state to live in. It helps, sure, but these are employees of a very high paying career. Draft/select guys that take their career seriously and move on.

The only time I think it's a valid issue is when you have a superstar player with big endorsement marketability ... I don't blame that guy for wanting to take his career to a big market. Having said that, how many of these are there REALLY?

Don't you make the room for the possibility for Fredette to improve? If he could be anywhere near the level of Billups I think for the #12 pick that would be a steal in this draft.

What more - he's more likely to stick around Utah and we all know that can't be a bad thing!

I think it's a bad comparison. Even if he improves it will not be by over powering smallish PG's. Even most of his fans that want him here want him to be a spot up shooter next to a SG like Hayward that can control the ball for him. That is nothing like what Billups brings to the game.

I don't know if there is a perfect comparison but Bibby seems like a much closer one. Also Bibby is probably his his ceiling. Also seems like a huge reach to grab a PG that in college averaged nearly double Billups' average TO/per game in a shorter game with far less talent. Did Jimmer face a single PG that will be in the NBA? Yet he averaged 4.3 TO/game.

Yes he seems a bit like a Mike Bibby right now.

What I said was - Billups could be his ceiling.

Jimmer already has the strength (he bench presses 10 at the combine), he already has the 3pt shot, he also display the composure required to carry a team. No doubt he needs to improve his passing, playmaking and savyness. But he has the work ethic to succeed at the next level IMO.

See this to me is the mentality that said picking Stockton, Nash, even Hayward from last year was a reach. You look at the skills he already has and see if he can improve on the rest and yes sometimes you pick on the potential.

If you look at the history of the #12 pick, I think you could do a lot worse than picking Jimmer there.

I can't wait till when we pick Jimmer what some of you will say when he becomes more of a chucker than CJ

Wow. We will never agree on Jimmer.

I actually think Jimmer is a huge stretch at 12. If we were picking 20 I would be all for picking him. I think he's a career backup PG playing when a team needs shooting and not defense. This is what he is most likely to be. I don't believe his ceiling is anywhere near Billups or Nash. Hell I'll be honestly surprised if he is ever concidered as good as Bibby used to be.

IMO the Jazz should take BPA at 12 and I just don't think he has any chance at being that. I'll be seriously upset with this front office if Jimmer is the pick at 12. This to me will be them admitting that money is more important than winning. Jimmer will bring money to this franchise. I don't care about that. I want a team that wants to win.

Jimmer is NOTHING like Billups. Different skill set. Different game completely. Like somebody else said Knight is much more like Billups and much more likely to be a PG on the level of a Billups. And I don't want Knight, I want Dwill or Kanter.

Jimmer has far less potential than a player like Knight or most of the other PG's in this draft that are 1st round pick options. He's not young for a draftee actually he's quite old and he's not very athletic. So where is this potential statement coming from. At 22 Jimmer should be one of the most polished players in the draft yet he has serious question marks in his game for his position.

Oh thank god for that! At least we can agree on something!
