Lots of new members I hadn't seen.. are they all Legit?

Yeah saw all those coming in last night. Removed FB connectivity and they kept coming. Changed how to register just now requiring the "type the two words you see" feature and seeing if that helps. We used to have a box that required someone to type "Go Jazz" in it which slowed bots but they figured it out.

Adding FB connectivity can NEVER be a good thing.

One thing I really have a lot of respect for in regards to this board is that it's growth was done organically. I mean, do we really need more users? Regardless of the amount of new users, for the most part only the same users post.

So would I but the reality is that the gamut of new posters don't post. Most are lurkers or bots.

Closing the loop on this thread, I think I've resolved the spam issue and have cleaned up a lot of the accounts. Hopefully didn't delete too many legit ones but if your account was removed and you're seeing this, just create it again. Only accounts with zero posts were deleted.

I don't think I've ever used those word pairings. It's usually, "thank you ma'am may I have another?". Sadly there's usually liquor involved and married women(I stopped drinking so I wouldn't become a full fledged homewrecker) ****, this isn't the "secrets" thread.

Moral here: booze is bad.
