Hill would be a great pick up even for the 10/12 mil range 2 years would be ideal with an option for 3. He is the kind of player that gives everything when he playes. He is n9t smooth but can be very effective.

I need to watch more to see whe he is inconsistent then much better. Playing time has something to do with it. Hill > ingles but ingles is a great 10 to 12 guy.

Deng is interesting because he is getting worse but he is the kind of vet that will find his nich in the league and have another 5 to 8 years to his career.

I wonder if deng can play minutes at the 5 in the small ball line up or move lyles to the 5. I am not sold on lyles at the 5 unless he puts on some muscle this summer. He has the size to be ok against most back up centers. As big a miss match on defense lyles would be he would be a bigger mismatch on offense.

I would love to fill out the roster with both

g hill, exum, neto
Hood, burks
Hayward, hill, ingles
Favors, deng, bolomboy
Gobert, lyles, withey

Or something like that

I'm all for adding talent such as Deng but I don't like the fit if he & Exum are both in the second unit (although I'd probably do it at the right $/yrs). I know lineups will be mixed & matched but I think you need more than 1 shooter (Lyles) with a backcourt of Exum & Burks (especially if Whithey is your C). This is one of the reasons I hope Hill & Exum at least equally split time with the first unit.

I like the potential of a 2nd unit consisting of Hill, Burks, 3&D SF, Lyles, & Whithey/DEF C. I don't like the idea of Lyles getting less minutes as Deng is probably best utilized at the 4 at this point tho. All for adding talent, just think there are better fits (depending on how we intend to use our lineup).

Just for the record I was talking about GEORGE Hill, Sorry for the last six pages.

I do love me some Solomon Hill, loved watching him play for Arizona, but if we get Deng, Hill is kind of redundant. If we strike out on Deng, I would revisit the Hill discussion. Lyles is better than Hill, imo. . .

What about if they pray to the right god on the right night? Let me ask you this way: if you were getting ready to guarantee S. Hill $48 Million dollars, would you count that last game of the year when you were projecting his stats based on past outcomes? That's a Yes or No question.

Well, first of all, no one appreciates your bullying tactics like demanding "yes or no" -- please try to be polite. If your world is black and white, that is fine, mine is not.

I think you are focused too much about the particular calculation of the arithmetic mean, which is a single value among a plethora of statistical analysis. It is very limited and just one indicator of central tendency, potentially misleading when used to project future outcomes.

I would look at all the data including the great game. I might look at the mean with and without a particular game if I feel there may be a reason why the game is not representative of a player's potential. I'd also look at variability of key statistics, not just averages.

The predictive power of ANY one game (good or bad) is practically zero. I would not, however, put my head in the sand and ignore it completely.

And there is no way I would offer him anywhere near $48M.

that game is an outlier if there ever was an outlier. Thanks for the 101, doe.
 
Dudley is the perfect fit for a team like the Jazz. He is a good guy who doesn't get into trouble so the Jazz love that. He can play a little also. Is a seasoned Vet who is fine with coming off the bench and if needed he can start and is good enough to hold his own..Dudley has carved out a nice career for himself. Better then most thought on draft day out of him, myself included. He really changed his game from B.C. and became a solid NBA player
