Lyles is the pick at 12

Great pick. The next Draymond Green. Only bigger, stronger and better.

Great pick. Love it.

That's who I see as well. Green shot 2-17 from 3 in his first two years at Michigan St. Lyles will develop a three point shot.

I'm softening on the pick as the night goes on. I trust DL and more so Snyder. Because he's handsome, young and smart. I remind me of him.

is there any competition for Bodhi for best handle on Jazzfanz?

Anybody watch Locke's Draft Observations before the draft but after the player interviews? He pretty much was dead on, on who's available, said Booker could drop and the Jazz could have to decide between him, Oubre and Lyles.

Walt Perrin thought Lyles was better than Towns before the season started.

I'm going back and watching some Lyles youtube footage from high school. I think he has some upside. He has a lot of room to improve his body. He can be more of a power player and be more explosive. He's not quick, but he's so smooth and moves efficiently to go along with his good size. He can be an impact player.

I'll say this -- he should be better than Millsap, both offensively and on the boards.

He's a guy you'd want to get into P3 right away. I don't think he's ever worked as hard as he's going to work in the NBA. He doesn't look like he was every pushed all that hard in high school or maybe at UK either.

Interesting Perrin's comment that Lyles has played some 3 so he's ahead of the curve of most 4's in terms of playing on the perimeter.

Lyles is going to open up a lot of stuff in Snyder's playbook.

I also see this possibility. But, the kid has a ton of work to do on his body. He's lucky he's come to a staff that is uber-focused on player development, where he can work a lot on conditioning and habits for the first year.

It's weird trying to defend this pick since I would have rather seen the Jazz draft about 5-6 other players before Lyles.

Still, is it possible to see how he performs in a season before the guy gets crucified here?
