Lol at the haters grasping at straws to make Lyles look bad. This has been a whirlwind day or two for all of those drafted yesterday plus if I were Lyles, Utah isn't exactly who I'd have hoped to get drafted seeing as he will be behind both Gobert and favors.

Also, most lottery picks expect they'll see a lot of playing time. But some agents were steering their clients away from working out for Utah because the rotation is pretty much set. Draft picks are perhaps fighting for 5-10 mins/per.
Lyles goes from playing for a stacked UK team to a stacked UJ team. Unless/until he improves his shot, he'll be the fourth big behind Booker (barring any trades).
Come on man, that's not really fair. The kid has been in a whirlwind last couple of days. He actually looked more animated and engaged today than what I remember from his interview when he was here for workout and looked totally disinterested. Lets give him a chance to step on the floor before we start disliking him.
Thats just the way he looks.
I got the sense that Dennis Lindsey didn't really care to be there either. Could be the 2 hours of sleep and the early-morning flight after working a 70-hour week maybe.
Lyles is saving his energy to dunk on people.
It's funny because Colin Cowherd said on his show today that star players have something they are elite at and he said Dwyane Wade's is his balance. Two totally different players and this doesn't mean anything in the grand scheme of things, but a pretty cool tidbit. He had the highest score out of 101 players.

The best players do have elite body control--the ability to move with subtlety and nuance that others can't match--whether it's subtle timing, unique angles, or elegant complete motions. That may sound like mumbo jumbo, but it's true.
When I look at players' potential, I look at how fluidly and intelligently they move.
There's a long list of examples: Kobe, Manu, Wade, Steph, Duncan, Garnett, Nash, etc.
People are saying Lyles isn't particularly athletic or explosive, but I'm not so sure about that. At UK he didn't have much room to move, and he wasn't in his natural position, so whatever athleticism he had was a bit stifled. Give him space and a few sets that take advantage of his abilities, and he might actually be a pretty skilled scorer in the NBA.
He's more naturally skilled than Favors, though he's not as long obviously.
On a related note, Exum still has the same high level of talent. Gobert is pretty remarkable for his size. He can euro-step and finger-roll. Burks has a lot of talent. And this new PG we drafted is more naturally gifted than Trey Burke.

If he can handle the ball a little, pass well, and extend his range to the three eventually he will be great. All-Star? Probably not, but I don't think it's unreasonable to expect him to become a very good rotation player, plus as he's really starting to put it together he will still be cost controlled for a year or two as we begin to compete.
I love his demeanor, this is not a guy who will get flustered. You can call it indifferent, but I would say he legitimately sounds calm every single time I've heard him speak.
