If he can handle the ball a little, pass well, and extend his range to the three eventually he will be great. All-Star? Probably not, but I don't think it's unreasonable to expect him to become a very good rotation player, plus as he's really starting to put it together he will still be cost controlled for a year or two as we begin to compete.

I love his demeanor, this is not a guy who will get flustered. You can call it indifferent, but I would say he legitimately sounds calm every single time I've heard him speak.

Excited to see Lyles, Hanlan, Exum, and Hood ball out in a couple of weeks.

His quiet demeanor is more of an old soul. You know those guys that sit in a room of other people just jabbering away and then suddenly the quiet one speaks and the words were valuable?
He listens, takes it all in, and doesn't waste words.

Stephen Curry's was the exact same player the year before. His stats were identical.
They had almost the exact same players the year before.

I give Steve Kerr the most credit. Without Kerr no way they make it to the finals. He changed the way that team played. Way more ball movement when he became the coach. Way better defense also.
Along with his rotations and benching 2 all-stars for less proven players who fit better with the system.

I was fine with the pick. I liked Lyles and think he will be a good player. ALl the guys on the board have issues with their games and there wasn't much difference talent wise. I guess you could make an argument for Booker but just because he is compared to Klay Thompson doesn't make him so.

I watched Kentucky several times and I would go away thinking why doesn't this kid get more hype. I like his old school game and think he will be a versatile part of the offense. I think the Jazz like his BB IQ and Quinn is already thinking of ways to use him. The other thing is he won't mind coming off the bench. TIme will tell if he is what the Jazz think he is but the kid is only 19 so he has a lot of time to tap his potential. I don't think this necessarily means the end to Booker because the Jazz can bring him back (option) and allow him to mentor Lyles. Burk was drafted 12th and so was Lyles so maybe it was destiny they are Jazzman. I also think his personally will not harm the team chemistry which was a concern with Oubre.

I just hope that all the naysayers don't freak out if he struggles in summer league and all the homers don't go crazy if he tears it up. We all need to chill and just enjoy the ride. I am so excited about this season. I also like the Jazz second round pick. I think he is going to surprise people.

For example, the reason the Warriors were so good was that they could play any way they wanted - they could go small or they could go big. Bogut was integral part of them beating the Grizzlies huge line up, but then didn't work against the more mobile Cleveland core and they went small. It's not all small and it's not all big. It's about giving the coach the versatility to play any style that would help him win a game, because if one way doesn't work he can always adjust and go the the other way and at least try to change the flow of either a game or playoff series.

Steph Curry.

The Golden State Warriors are Champs because Steph Curry. It's pretty simple really. It's a stars league. If it isn't Steph, it's Lebron, or Duncan, or Kobe. Those teams win because they have the alpha dog.

The Warriors could have all the versatility in the world and run all small forwards at every position, or whatever they want to to try. Without Steph Curry they don't win the championship. Plain and simple.

Steph Curry is the best shooter ever. He should have been the finals MVP. The only reason why that small ball lineup worked and Iguodala and Draymond could get off was because Steph Curry was on the floor and the Cavs were doing everything in their power to stop him from shooting. They made the decision to have Iguodala beat them, and he did. That's all they could do really.

There is only one Steph Curry. No one else is going to run small ball to the championship, I guarantee it. Because there is only one Steph Curry.


Lucky for us, there is only one Rudy Gobert. We have our own ultimate weapon. I'm all in on it, and think we can ride it pretty far. Maybe even to a championship.

I think everyone knows that you need stars to win the chip. Stitches was just pointing out that the warriors are not a "small ball" team.

This is spot on. I agree that you need a star to win an championship. The Detroit Pistons most recent championship is an example that a great team without a star can also win. Back to Curry, until they surrounded him with a versatile, deep bench, he wasn't good enough by himself, just like Lebron isn't good enough by himself. The Warriors have a great team and Kerr did a great coaching job this year.

I'm warming up to the Lyles pick. Seems he was played out of position and still played pretty well. Apparently, he has a high basketball IQ (would have needed it to play out of position on a well coached team) and a versatile skill set. Some say he might end up being the best of the three Kentucky lottery picks. All speculation, but DL might have made an astute pick. I hope so.
