Malone was always spouting off and often without fact - channel LHM if you don't believe it. That being said, this is old news on this board and I have heard it enough times to believe there was a heated exchange between coach and Willy and management folded. I am not willing to say it was KOC because it could have been multiple folks. As for Karl as a coach, I love the guy as a player and think he would make a horrible coach.

Touché. Malone and Stockton have really spoiled us. They were really unique players, but as a Jazz fan, I almost take it for granted that all players are like them.

Still, I'd be intrigued to see what happens if we get Favors to run more. I know we can't get Enes to, he is too slow and heavy.

Karl ran the floor as hard as any big ever has. I watched him do it. Both ways. He's right. If a big talented man runs the court the way Karl did he will get a lot of easy points.

I'm all for Karl having an affect on our young uns but when I watch Enes I already see a lot of Karl's influence there. I wonder if he watched Karl much or if that aggressive style just comes natural to him. He isn't intimidated by respected vets- he'll try to push anyone around. And watch Enes run- you can see him scan the floor and plan how and where he's going to blow by everyone at times. Karl used to run the outside most of the time but still they're similar. Favors is extremely mobile also. It's easy to get excited about these young guys but I also see the sense in us having drafted a PG instead.

When Malone talks about big men running the floor he isn't talking about them dribbling down the court. Did you ever watch the Mailman play? He would get a reboun,d pass it to Stockton, then sprint down the court for an easy layup.

For the record, Enes is not slow at all, if you're not comparing him to a guard. Check Draft Combine results, see his sprint, how he runs for his SIZE. He is heavy, of course, but considering his size - which you cannot teach - and weight, he is very good.

Enes, of course, is heavy but he his body fat % is just ridiculous, I do not think there's currently any NBA center who has a better ratio in that.

I was really impressed with how he reacted in PnR situations in Dallas game. He read it well and recovered pretty quickly even though he was the biggest, heaviest player on the court, and matched up against a more athletic PG/C combo in those situations. I do not understand how he can be slow for a bigman.

That comparison had nothing to do with speed. The comparison related to how Kanter runs directly to a spot (low block) and immediately establishes deep position. Corbin referenced both Malone and Alonzo Mourning in that comparison. Nothing about the way Kanter runs the floor resembles Malone's endurance and speed in filling the lane.
