Making clear the Jazz trade up assets

Hayward, like all pending free agents, cannot be included in draft-day trades. And contrary to what people are piecing together on Twitter, he also can’t be involve in any Sign & Trade discussions that take place on Draft Day because it’s illegal for the Jazz or any other team to negotiate with Hayward until July 1, long after the draft has fully congealed.

The assets
Having said that, here’s what the Jazz DO have available to trade on June 26:
· #5
· #23
· #35
· Any of Utah’s own future picks
· 2017 unprotected 1st from GSW
· 2016 & 2017 2nd rounders from GSW
· 2018 2nd rounder from Den
· Draft rights to Raul Neto and Ante Tomic
· Favors
· Enes Kanter
· Alec Burks
· Trey Burke
· Rudy Gobert
· Jeremy Evans
· Murphy, Thomas and Clark, unless the rumored details of their 2014-15 contracts are wrong
· Cap space that can be used in verbal agreements to be officially consummated after the July moratorium. Maybe this helps understand what we can do or the assets we can do them with.

Clear, concise, understandable. Lays all possibilities out there in plain sight. Are you trying to give this forum a bad name? Seriously good job. Repped!

Good post. I had plans to do this to.

It shows just how loaded we are with assets and should not hesitate to attempt to move up in this draft. And there is no reason to be conservative either. In five years, probably half of those assets will be gone anyways. Either by trade, bad picks, players leaving in FA, etc...

Move up and grab Jabari. Let's not make this too difficult.

Hack, you have been leading the charge as far as trading whatever it takes for jabari.

And i agree...... but if we are going big and going high risk (giving away lots of assets) for high reward (a potential star player), then why not go as big as possible?
Lets go after wiggins

Good point here. At some point you have to do something with your assets.

We have yet to turn any of the assets we've been hearing about since Deron left into a substantial piece.

Now is the time.

Because Parker is white.

Mormon, dummy.

mormon = white

Funny story, on the way to the Siegessäule today in Berlin, in the tunnel that goes under the giant roundabout there, a homeless guy handed me a book just out of the blue. He wanted to sell it. Guess what it was? Yep, a Book of Mormon. Kind of weirded me out.

How much?

Well I didn't buy it, but I did give the guy a spritzkuchen and a 2 euro piece, and I gave him the book back.

Perhaps it wasn't the first (or last) time. He may have just hit on a new panhandling strategy!! By the way....spritzkuchen is maybe a cookie?

Thanks for this thread, I get frustrated reading threads (like trading Hay among many many other things) only to know that it isn't possible. I guess I should be a better poster and politely enlighten or correct those but it is so deflating and I lose all motivation because most of the time it's posted as a matter of fact and not just an idea.

Although I remember a day when people nicely educated me with their posts of rules, regulations and other things like salary cap and did so with no or little condescending attitude. Those posters are much better than I (as well as much more knowledgeable).
