Well that sounds like it could be a little dangerous. I wouldn't get high if fingers, arms, or heads could be lost. My best getting high at work story was when I was 16. I had a job in warehouse for a company that sold 'educational products.' One of those products was those certificates you get in grade school with a scratch n sniff sticker that says, "Grape Job!" My grape job was to count out 10 of them, not 9 or 11, and put them into a bag. Over and over and over and over again. I was not well paid. Very few people I worked with spoke English, though it seemed like great conversations were happening in Spanish. I'd barely ever smoked pot at that time, but this one dude I worked with got me high at lunch one afternoon. It wasn't a grape job after that, but I definitely had more fun counting than I ever had since I was 6.

Alcohol is ridiculously easy to get because most parents keep it around. Pot would rise to that level if more parents had some sort of "weed cabinet" and kept it around in there, but considering the social acceptance of one compared to the other I doubt you would see that, unless that acceptance rose with legality.

And I saw way more pot in high school than booze, but that's the crowd I hung around with. Plus it's a bit easier to go to class high than drunk, at least in terms of getting away with it.

Plus, smokes were a pain to get when I was in high school until my good friend turned 18. Before that we had either go into a store and hoped they didn't ID (most did) or buy packs from some kid who worked at a Walgreens and stole cartons and sold it to us on the side). My parents didn't smoke, my friends parents didn't smoke, so there was no parents to rip it off from.

Somewhat expensive.

Top grade stuff (and it all pretty much is, but there is some variation especially with how it's cured) runs from $40-50 an eighth, though prices are cheaper if you sign over your caregiver status to a particular club. On the other hand, perfectly good slightly less than top grade stuff can be had for $25-30 an eighth. The top level prices are no different than the were/are on the black market, and I'm talking about black market prices long before these clubs came around.

One thing I haven't seen in 4-5 years is that awful Mexican brick crap. That being said, I'm in a small minority who misses stuff that was around that potency (well maybe not that weak, but a bit stronger than it). Pot seems to come only in really strong strength, much like if you had a liquor store that only sold whiskey and everclear. I sorta long for lower potency pot that isn't the awful taste/smell/look quality that the Mexican crap weed is. Sorta like the craft beer of weed if you will. Unfortunately, it will take a completely legal market to see that since I'm admittedly in a niche market for that.

Man, in my stupid days we used to go to 'The Door.' It was this really crappy house in a really crappy neighborhood where you'd hand 20 dollars around a door and get back an old fashioned sandwich baggie of weed. Sophisticate that I am now, I wouldn't piss on that dirty weed. But back then, you got really high off it and saw Hunt For Red October for the 12th time at the SuperSaver Cinema (2 dollars!). To this day I still look grimly at one of my oldest buddies when I see him and say, "We're going to kill Ramius. We're going to kill a friend." We crack up every time.

I usually end up doing it around three times a day, sometimes more. It usually takes between 2-6 tokes to get the job done depending. Usually not that many though because I grow some very potent medical grade stuff. Also I often make oil out of it and vaporize it with a bell and pad- that is much more potent and I'll only toke that 1-2 times.
 
I can't speak for other high schools but pot is a way bigger issue where I teach versus alcohol.

I'm sure you've done this, but make a spliff with tobacco. Hash with tobacco is almost a different experience altogether (almost exlusively a mood booster and body high).

And for the record, I only smoke tobacco minimally (in the rare above scenarios, in addition to a cigar or some kind of hooka crap once in a blue moon).

I think there's quite a few of us that miss that Mexican shwag from back in the day. Used to be able to get that stuff for so cheap, and it worked and lasted. When green went up to $50-60 that shwag kinda disappeared. Of course these days it wouldn't do much to me with the grade I am used to.
 
But I suppose all this ******** will just make the inevitable victory over these ignorant ****ing fascists that much sweeter.
