Mark Bartlestein (Hayward's agent) to be on 97.5/1280 The Zone in 15 minutes

I mean despite clearly being angry he seemed to still be professional. I would assume as long as he doesn't go over line and stays professional that they would allow him to express his feelings and viewpoints.
Jazz org and FO can stay professional and classy. You KNOW they'd like to say and do what they really feel. So unleash Checketts, Locke, etc.

Doesn't the Jazz own 1280? Think they're going to be calling Checketts to the principal's office at some point? His personality and the full-page ad today aren't the same message the Jazz want to leave out there...

I'm out of state and haven't lived in Utah for a long time, but if this is true, I applaud the Jazz organization for allowing someone they pay, to have an honest and unscripted opinion.

My biggest problem with Locke has always been that he seems to have to follow company line, and serve as a cheerleader for the franchise. I would respect him so much more, as well as the jazz, if he was allowed to give an honest opinion. Nobody agrees with absolutely everything a team does, no matter how much of a homer they are.

For David Locke's sake, I hope they someday give him complete freedom of opinion, even if it's negative. He'd earn a lot more respect that way IMO.

Damn. Espn is pretty informed for once. I'm impressed. The biggest thing that struck home, was the woman(don't know her name) talking about DL shoulda known, and I completely agree. I was totally convinced Hayward would re-sign, until I saw his end of season interviews. He was obviously not considering Utah as his future. I could tell just by that, so DL and Quin knew without a doubt, and were counting on Haywood caving to the pressure of not wanting to be hated. Even though I strongly dislike Haywood, DL knew and gambled and lost.

I generally agree, but I don't give as much weight to DL's decision to let the market dictate the price. It was instantly matched, and that was ages ago. In the year 3 BP (before Trump)! I'm no so sure it proved that big a factor. I feel like he would have left anyway.

Yep, not what I meant. When DL didn't max him right away, it was the right choice. Hayward kinda sucked that year, and didn't in any way, justify a max. Matching was a big gamble that could have easily went the other way.

No, I was talking about DL and Quin trying to play like they were confident Haywood would re-sign as a UFA. They had to know he wasn't committed here. I don't care about Rubio, or Hill, Or jingles.

All the indications were there that Haywood wanted to move on. DL and Quin counted on Jordan to cave to the pressure, and he didn't. That's a huge mistake they can't make again. Some players indicate loyalty and some don't. Doesn't matter if somebody says a I might come back, but I want to consider all options. If somebody say that, you have to consider them good as gone, and then make your moves accordingly.

The only thing I disagree with is the title. Don't blame Gordon Hayward for going to the Celtics. He madE a choice. It was 100% his choice. If you think he made the wrong choice then yes he is who you should blame. If you think he made the right choice then he is who you should congratulate. It just seems a tad silly to me to say that he should own his decision in the clip and then title it that. The title should have been Did Hayward fumble his breakup with the Jazz. Even non Jazz fans see that he did. It'd what separates his FA from others. Still everything that was said was on point and accurate.

He lied from start to finish... but it was also kind of cringe-worthy from Spence and Gordon IMO. Seemed super needy and desperate.

When did he lie and how do you know? All you guys who "know" that Hayward made his mind up a year ago, how do you come by this knowledge? Did you find a secret diary? Did you hear it at Bestbuy? The people involved hay and his agent said he was leaning to utah as of Monday night.
