Oh, believe me, I get it. In fact, I said so. You don't want same-sex marriage because you don't want same-sex marriage. You SAY it's because marriage is for procreation, but you are being intellectually dishonest, because when you're given other cases where there will be no chance of procreation, you say, "Oh, well, that's different."
And then, to top it off, you talk about "forcing" gay marriage. Who is it being forced on? Will men suddenly be forced to marry other men? How, exactly, would it affect you? How? Why does it matter to you so much what other people do, and how they find happiness?
explained it in the other thread couple months ago about the value of family. and that a hurdle for procreation should be in place. as it being mariage. because if people take procreation and marriage lightly. it would lead to more single parent families. and that affects us all.
by saying marriage is for 2 people who love each other, sends a message it is temporary. and marriage is taken lightly.
if marriage is not an (unofficial) hurdle for procreation. procreation gets taken more lighlty.
if procreation and mariage are taken like some big ****ing joke.
it means family(unit) is taken lightly.
when that happens more single parent families and unwanted pregnancy(note the word more.) if marriage and procreation are taken serious there are always irresponsible people who take it lightly.
although single parenting is not the cause of crime(there are a gazillion) but statistic show kids are more likely to become criminals from single parenting houses
As society if we send a unofficial message: "fall in love, spent time together, marry then procreate" it would be a better society. because people who have a family unit(mother father and children) tend to stay together if they fall out of love. divorces should then only happen in case of real problems like abuse, crime and even extramarital affairs.(although if a extramarital affair happens every now and again i personally would forgive and stay together for the sake of children but thats another discusion)
marry for love? marriage is a bond for eternity and love does not last an eternity. heck it last a couple of years, a decade if your lucky.
