Mark Jackson Just Can't Let It GO

On a high volume basis, I would agree that those guys were better than Stock...but if you absolutely need a big bucket in the clutch, Stockton is every bit as good or better than any of those guys.

Curry's the guy you get the ball to for a shot.
Stockton's the guy you get the ball to find a good shot.

We'll just have to agree to disagree...I think Stockton was the greatest clutch player in Jazz history. If I'm coaching a team with Stockton on it and we need a basket to win the game, I'm drawing up plays to have him take the big shot every time.

You misunderstand me.

If there's some time left on the clock(think 5-14 seconds) you draw up a play and give the ball to Stockton with a rough outline, and he'll find the right person to shoot it(possibly him)

If there's less than 5 seconds, or the defense is incredibly good and incredibly stingy, someone's gonna have to shoot a bad shot. That person should be Curry.

Anyone that speaks truth is considered an idiot by jazz fans right? He said Stock shot was good and not great. How is that false and how you going ge tupset about it. More sensitive then a pregnant woman(jazz fans)

really?

this is prime 27 year old stockton.
https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/s/stockjo01/gamelog/1990/
1.4 3pt attempt per game.
most he ever attempted in a game that season was 6 3pter. he was 1-6.

curry last year
https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/c/curryst01/gamelog/2013/

this year
https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/c/curryst01/gamelog/2014/

about 8 per game.

Klay is around 7.

it's apples to oranges people!! these new animals we have are volume shooters/scorers. they will launch it no matter what. it's their game. it's their system.

stockton is a great shooter, but not a great 3pt shooter. not enough attempts. and i just believe fg% will go down more you shoot. it won't improve your number for sure because there will be many bad nights. like those 2 you posted.

i just can't put him up there with reggie, ray, curry, etc. of course he had clutch moments. he had long a$$ career and he is a clutch player. but i just can't put him up there with those great 3pt shooters.
The only reason a players % would go down with more shots is if they started taking bad shots. I'm not convinced that if Stockton would have shot more his %'s would have gone down that much.
.
Maybe some of these volume shooters should learn to be a little more selective.
.
Also I was one begging Stockton to shoot more. I was more comfortable with him shooting than any other player on the floor, including Hornacek.

of course i'm talking. all you are doing is shut your mouth up because you have no arguments.

basketball IQ is very low on this board.

Um, duuurka durka duuuur ka durk? Says the guy complaining about IQ.

what an awful scenario. curry is only 25. 10 years later he could be regarded as a greatest shooter of all time breaking every damn records or he might be out of the league by next year because of his ankle.

Oh, so longevity doesn't count, huh? "He could be out of the league by next year" because he's a bitch and not a great. Keep chuckin' though, dude.
