Marvin Williams is Injured... Again

Marvin Williams has a lower back strain. Getting an MRI. Won't practice today.

He has played like **** since the trade deadline, maybe this is why? The dude can't seem to stay healthy. Maybe the Jazz should reconsider how many minutes they've been giving him?

Wonder how long he'll be out. Hopefully this means we'll see more Kanter and Favors together.

Back strain from playing outta position for too long maybe? Stretch 4's are nice to have, but he has routinely been out played by big 4's. That being said I like him much better this year than I did last season

Funny. We have a bunch of guys who could use some more minutes, but instead we are running Marvin into the ground so that we might win a few more games which will in turn hurt the value of the franchise. Brilliant.

I highly doubt that Marvin Williams is the difference between us and Orlando. And he's definitely not the difference between us and Philly or Milwaukee.

Now that the trade deadline has passed, what is the general consensus on his return? I really like him off the bench at 5 per.

I like bringing him back for 2 years. Any more than that and I'm not so sure. He seems like a good guy, decent player, says he likes it here.

Perhaps not, but he could certainly be part of a potential difference between LA, Boston or Sacramento. All yet to be determined.

I would like to have him back as well. He has grown on me

Oh no! This might force Ty to use Kanter and Favors together. World will end in 3, 2, 1
Over the last 10 games, the Jazz have 30 2-man lineup combos that have played 50+ minutes together. Among those 30 2-man combos, Kanter-Favors is dead last in +/- per 48.

The 3 bigman 2-player combos with 50+ minutes over the last 10 games:

Favs-Marv: 180 minutes, -1.1/48
Enes-Evans: 135 minutes, -6.4/48
Favs-Enes: 70 minutes, -18.9/48

We have won some games though because he has gone off, but I guess you could argue if someone else was in his place, they could also go off and help us win game we otherwise wouldn't have.

At the beginning of the year, I probably would have said yea bring him back. Now, the only way I want him back is if he is a reserve and cheap. I wouldn't give him more than two years.

The injustices in life. Marvin had an MRI and gets his own thread. Meanwhile john Lucas missed last game and is tugging around in a walking boot and nobody says boo about it.

Sad.

ION---I hope Gobert is freed while Marvin is hurt. I want to see Gobert and Kanter play together. Madness.

Here are the bottom 6 in +/- for the year.
I want to see big minutes from them in this order.

Kanter
Jefferson
Hayward
Favors
Burks
Burke

I would give the nod to Lucas and Burke over Burks because of their better negative score per minute for the tank.
