Massive Shooting in Aurora (CO) Theater

I honestly believe that if the government ever tries to round up all the guns and remov e them from gun owners it woudl result in armed insurrection at the least. I know many people that would refuse to hand over their weapons. I can see a couple of them fighting to keep them. Once that starts happening more and more would join in their defense.

than the united states would be split in 2 countries
the united states of *******, who are afraid of guns and thinks that guns kill people.

and the united armed state.

after 40 years orso the united states of ******* will have completely demolished all guns, their army and cops walk around with pink nerfed night sticks.
so then the united armed states attacks the united states of *****, conquering all territories with relative ease.
naming their new unified country : The United States of america

Yeah, like Colorado isn't a concealed carry state or there aren't a ton of people with guns here.

Or apparently in Texas everyone who is watching midnight movie showings are packing.

I don't know, that sounds like a lot of work to end up back in the same spot.

how do they get it where guns are illegal.

Shockingly, from places where it's legal.

And no, the drug parallel doesn't really work. Drugs are easier to grow and make than assault rifles. I know that at least one guy in my HS had a small growup. I've never heard of a HS student who made his own AK47 and shot up his school.

If you believe the demand for drugs is at about the same level as the demand for assault rifles, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.

That's kind of a silly thing to say, since it's completely beside the point. One is illegal and one is not. Our government hasn't been able to control the one that's illegal, so I see no reason to believe that outlawing the other one would be any different. When you create a black market for something, there are always going to be people trying to profit from it, whether it's drugs or guns or the gall bladder from a bear.

Guns don't get used up with one use like drugs, so that argument doesn't hold water. The guns are already made, and any attempt to try and get rid of those, would only result in taking guns out of the hands of those who follow the law. Also, you could stop the manufacture of more guns in this country, but you can't stop other countries from making them, and then, just like with drugs, you can't stop them from coming into the country illegally.

Realistically, any attempt to get rid of the guns that are already in existence here, would just result in having them replaced by guns coming into the country illegally. This country is pretty much already flooded with guns.

Guns are illegal in Mexico. You should ask them how they're having so much success with controlling them. It's probably because the high school kids aren't able to make them.

That's a whole other issue. My point is that if there was enough of an interest on the part of the government to severely decrease the number of guns in the country, they could.

Article 10: The inhabitants of the United Mexican States have a right to arms in their homes, for security and legitimate defense, with the exception of arms prohibited by federal law and those reserved for the exclusive use of the Army, Navy, Air Force and National Guard. Federal law will determine the cases, conditions, requirements, and places in which the carrying of arms will be authorized to the inhabitants.

Guns are most certainly legal in Mexico.

Let's say someone was packing. The killer was wearing body armor and seemed pretty prepared. So I guess we can say that at least a shootout in a dark theater would delay a few deaths? Create a hostage situation? or something. I guess its better than nothing, but imagine if the entire audience was packing. In my opinion, gun control would just open a larger black market, so the wrong people will end up getting power and blast everyone else away. Imagine a situation where everyone is walking around with a loaded gun, would people be nicer or would there be cowboy standoffs randomly all over the place?

Assuming you are just with a group of dudes and sat at the top in a typical modern movie theater with split entrances, would you jump over the walls on the sides to run outside the door? (this can possibly break your legs, but allows other people to escape the opposite way if the killer decides to chase you) I can't imagine the horror in that room! :(

I will be packing very shortly. I'd get away if given the chance.

However how would I be able to live with myself if I had the ability to do something and I didn't and a little kid was killed. I'd never be able to look at myself again.
