Wow#2 tonight for me.
Borat, come on out. You were right about KOC not talking with him at all. I stand (sit) corrected. Need to call Hopper.
1. The Jazz assummed they knew his market value - they were wrong.
2. Wes is DEFINATELY bummed in that article - or at least they cut the article to portray that. Wow. Wow. Wow. "I would have stayed for less" (paraphrase...) unbelieveable. he is sad to be in portland. Wow...
I'm going to have a Jazz-induced insomnia this evening...
That's the Jazz for ya. Cheap as always. This will come back to haunt them. They could've gotten Matthews, probably for $16-20 million for 4/5 years, if they simply made him a fair offer. Instead they had to low-ball him. They f'd both Matthews and themselves. Did the same to Korver. Shows you how much they value loyalty.
A Matthews discount would have been what though? I don't feel sorry at all for Wes. He just was signed for nearly 34 million dollars. We need to stop thinking with our hearts and more with our heads.
You could also make the claim that matthews should have called the Jazz and said he just got offered FULL MLE but wants to stay in Utah, make me and offer and if its fair I'll stay.
Matthews got greedy and thought the Jazz would match no matter what. He gambled and lost but gets 34 million to be a backup.
