MEDIA DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Notes from Day 3 of camp! Via twitter:

Tony Jones
: Third straight day that Quin Snyder has singled out Joe Johnson for playing well

Tony Jones: Quin Snyder said the depth of the team is elevating the competition in practice.

Tony Jones: Snyder said Gordon Hayward and Rudy Gobert have played well in camp. Likes their consistency.

Tony Jones: joe's presence while understated can't be overstated

Jody Genessy: Joe Ingles apparently won his shooting contest with George Hill. joe: "You might want to ask him what happened."

Hmm...Joe Johnson's presence cannot be overstated? They have gone on and on about that...

Not sure how much game he has left but his comments have impressed me. He is very self aware and that is hard to find. Most guys can't accept stepping back and mentoring guys while still playing. He also seems like a smart hard worker.

Yeah, I'm really starting to wonder if he'll start, and then have Hood come off the bench.

That or they're trying to make him feel important in the off the bench vet role by brown nosing through the media.

I watched quite a bit of Miami Heat last season and Joe was very decent offensively leading up the playoffs. He also played big minutes. He definitely still has a lot of game left.

Problem is that hayward looks huge and JJ is really big.
I don't think either of them are shooting guards so I think hood has to start.

I know Hood is our future, but if we can get off to a strong start each game with the Hayward/Johnson pairing then I'm good with Hood coming off the bench this year. I'd rather see us being up 6-8 points at the end of 1st and have Hood off the bench vs being down 5-6 points and playing catch up the rest of the way.

BTW we were 2nd from last in 1st quarter points per game last year (last was Lakers):

I've always been a fan. Just hard to have the pedal to the metal in a clown car. And that's the bench DL had given Utah for the last 3 years.

But he's stepped up this season, so I'll give him credit. Or maybe the Millers sold a few more Toyotas and felt they could invest in the team again.
