Memo traded to NJ

Funny how before we acquired Jefferson everyone complained about how safe and boring KOC was. Now he is wheeling and dealing left and right.

I'm too lazy to dig up that Synergy Sports data that had him as the second best post defending center in the league. Anyway, an upside to the trade is that it will force you to update your (consistently wrong) material.

Memo was a horrible defender no matter what some stat book says. Anyone he guarded who could move laterally presented him serious trouble. You can send Synergy a note if you like but I have no idea what they were looking at.

This move doesn't bother me at all. I loved Memo's time here, but I think the game has passed him by, or at least in the Jazz system.

I'm surprised how many people hated this trade. We save 10M, get a 2nd round pick, AND a trade exception for a guy, imo, who should be our 5th big.

I agree. Really, the only bummer about this trade IMO is that Memo is just such a likeable guy. Hard to see guys like that go. But I can't be the only who who was worried that he was going to take minutes away from some of the younger guys.

So much for Kanter having mentor speaking his language. On the other hand that will give him more minutes to play. Now Nets just need to sign AK and they will have all starting five of former Jazz players... Deron, Deshawn, Ak, Humphries and Okur. Would beat any starting 5 current Jazz would assemble.

The talk was that KOC was the gas and Sloan was the brake when it came to trades and I think that's pretty evident judging by the fact that of the players who were on the team that was swept by the Lakers in 2010, only Millsap and Miles remain. ****, since Sloan retired, only Millsap, Miles, Jefferson, Bell, Watson, Hayward, and Evans are still here. Hopefully with no brakes, this thing's not out of control.
