Messina says he would love coming to the Jazz!!!

Spence Checketts has it on good authority that the Utah Jazz have now entered a bidding war with the Los Angeles Lakers for the services of Spurs assistant Jim Boylen. Currently the Lakers have the upper hand as a move to LA would help Boylen's budding rap career. His new single "Da 2 Utes" will hit shelves on Friday. Jazz may have to settle for foreigner Messina.

Hoiberg - wouldn't take it
Donovan - wouldn't take it
Jay Wright (ugh) - might take it
Sean Miller - would take it and could be big.

Why would you want to go and take away one of the few joys I have here in Tucson? But, yeah, Miller's special.

What about Shaka Smart or Ollie from UConn?

I don't think we have to worry about Messina going to the Lakers. The Lakers will want to make a big splash and hire a well known coach in the United States, like stealing Popovich away from the Spurs, or Coach K, or Rick Pitino. They do everything "Hollywood" style so I doubt they'd go after a relatively unknown coach like Messina (despite his apparent coaching excellence). Just my opinion.

The thing thy have going for him, is that he was an assist coach a few years ago with them... So they know who he is.
