So Turkey and Saudi Arabia at considering a joint ground operation in northern Syria. Saudi Arabia is already stationing troops in Turkey including warplanes.

Of course Russia is dead set against this and raised the possibility of "a new world war".

Aleppo is a city that the Syrian gov and Russian forces are pushing to take back. A ground invasion by Turkey and Saudi Arabia would put forces from both sides in close proximity to each other.

Keep in mind that Saudi Arabia leads the new Arab League coalition (20ish Arab nations including Egypt, Pakistan and Jordan) and Turkey is a NATO country and AT LEAST has American (war planes) and Spanich (Patriot middle systems) forces on its territory.

Interesting. The Saudi/Turkey plan is particularly eye catching.

He is taking his sweet time with his diabolical plan then. He has been in office for almost 2 full terms now and nothing major has happened yet right? He is almost out of office. He is running out of time to execute his plan.
 
Would the Western forces get away if the MiddleEastern folk gave away all their oil? Or is there something else too they value?

If there was no oil the outside interest would certainly lessen but there is still strategic control. Middle east will always have meddlers.
 
Bomb attack in Ankara during the red light wait of two army buses. 28 dead 61 wounded as of now. Didn't know where to put this. Turkish news don't hit here usually. Just feel awful. God damn every kind of terrorism.

I was just reading this.

IMO whoever did this wants Turkey, and by extension possibly Saudi Arabia and others (Qatar, UAE, Jordan...), to go into Syria with ground troops. They are begging for it.

Turkey is already shelling across the border and has, from last I read, at least 6 brigades of vehicles along the Syrian border.

Then Saudi Arabia has planes in southern Turkey at their airbases. And they, along with UAE and Qatar, have offered ground troops in some capacity.

The people doing this are practically begging for Turkey to go into Syria. Because when this happens turkey looks south.

Scary stuff.

I had someone who I thought was reasonably intelligent say to me with a straight face that Obama was going to declare a state of emergency and not relinquish the white house when his term was over.

I get the feeling that people who hate Obama just make up their own reality when it comes to who he is and what he's done.

If he's worse than your average president over the last 40 years I just don't see it. I didn't support him before he became the president, and I didn't vote to re-elect him, but I've been pleasantly surprised by him as our president.

He has just been a president to me. Far better than some. I have specific areas I don't care for his policies.

But all this conspiracy talk is bogus. One area I am pretty disappointed in is that race relations seem to have worsened. I don't blame him, I blame all of us. Missed chance to make things better.

No ****. PM announced that it was a Syrian Kurdish Terrorist Group. At least this is what they say. I don't know what to believe I read in the news anymore.
