Where has that ever been stated as being the Jazz' philosophy? I'll bet Phil Johnson was one of the best-paid assistants in the league. As for Lowe...well, Ty choose him. Jazz said money wouldn't be an issue with the HC hiring. I doubt it would be in terms of the lead assistant.
Great. Thanks for the info. My second part of the paragraph was the alternate, suggesting Bryant would continue to aid in the development of both rosters. Bryant probably isn't the coaching type since he choose a different path by opening up a training business.
I didn't necessarily mean the Jazz in particular. . . I was commenting more on the value of Assistant Coaches league-wide vs. what they get paid.
The question is if that means that they're going to be bench coaches, or Player Development assistants like they have been previously. If it means that they're both bench guys, then there's one spot left open. I'm hoping for Engelland as one of those spots just so the Jazz can become an extremely proficient team on the offensive end. The key to pick and roll is understanding the defense and then knocking down shots. Stockton and Malone were amazing because they could both shoot from anywhere on the court in that process.
This is pretty much exactly how I see it as well. Snyder will have his hands in both offense and defense. Jones/Engelland would be primarily offensive coaches, while Jensen is primarily the head defensive assistant. Any other assistants hired would help out in their areas of expertise. Maybe give Karl Malone an expanded role with the Big Men and hire both him and John Stockton and official Coaching Consultants to help the young guys truly understand P&R.

GM said there wasn't an opening on the coaching staff. There likely is once Pops retires after this championship.
