Mike Conley knee strain

This sounds much better. Day to day is almost like forced rest, so maybe it works out. Hopefully they they are extra cautious though and keep him out as long as he needs.
Agreed. I’d hate to see Mike end his career with a catastrophic injury. Hope he gets to retire on his own terms. Unless the Jazz get a killer offer, I expect him to be here this year and possibly get traded next offseason as a highly valued expiring contract.

Jazz probably won’t get any picks, but hopefully they can get a young(ish), core player to team up with Markkanen.

Great news. The less game Mike miss, the better for the Jazz. I do think we can cover up for few games but not for long. Passing will be down for sure. He was already last games. Plus Mike and Lauri seems to find each other very well, already more than 20 years of Don and Rudy together ;)

At least two weeks, I don't like that. Happy it's not more serious but still upset since he shouldn't have been playing at all.
Blessing in disguise?? Ya!!! Maybe we can hire someone to Nancy Kerrigan Markkanen’s ***. So dumb!!!
Toward the end John Stockton had a similar scare. I don't remember how long he was out.
Oh good lord, he freaking played every game possible his last 5 years!! WTF are you talking about?

The Jazz were on the road and his knee locked up in the hotel and the trainers were able to get it unlocked so the Jazz could get on the bus. Sloan was quoted that he thought it was the end for Stock.

If Sexton is still recovering, which he very well could be. I don’t think someone would come off of restricted minutes and be at their peak physically. If that’s the case, I think Sexton can make the biggest difference through defense and sharing the ball.

Sounds about right.
To be honest, if it were me with that injury, I would probably be out playing basketball again in two or three days.

It was an isolated popliteal over extension(meaning no other muscle structures were involved), so he probably felt very minimal pain and was walking around with no problem 20 minutes later. Probably more of a scare than anything for him. I imagine if I felt that I would stay on the ground too for good measure.

If he is out the full month, it is because of precautions, rest, or simply testing out other lineups. The hamstrings don’t even connect to the popliteal in any manor so there shouldn’t be any “crossover injury concerns” there.

Any updates?

When looking at the calendar I had kind of hoped he would be coming back about now to get some practices in during our 3 days off.

I'm definitely not looking forward to him coming back. Right now we have positioned ourselves perfectly over the last few weeks for the tank and the next 7 games is a really rough stretch that could set us up perfectly to lock in that 6-8 draft range. With Conley back all of a sudden we go back to having the best bench in the nba and we likely stabilize around the .500 mark.
