Seems like this would be a good fit. I just don't think he's getting great shot selection with Jefferson. With Sap coming off the bench he will go to being the #1 option. I also like Sap against the secondary defenders. You would of course though finish the 4th quarter with Millsap and Jefferson.

So new starting lineup

Harris
Hayward
Howard
Favors
Jefferson

This brings two vets off the bench and should help out the second units scoring issues. This of course would help give Favors more time for develepment.

But the question is could Favors stay out of foul trouble? That was the big issue when he started at the beginning of the season.

actually sap aint the problem sap takes way less shots than al. but scores jsut as much.
stop force feeding jefferson
stop making him the vocal point and it takes care of it selfs

I'm higher on Favors next year. This year, just ride the pine and enjoy riding a pine...?

You catch 'Bazz last night?

didn't see the game, but happy they took state. Last year was a huge disappointment. He is visiting Kansas this week which I think is a huge mistake. Rebs or ky are the only teams that can show him off properly.

He's not going to KU .. or even considering it. Just taking his free trips. He's leaning rebs (MKG talking a return for his sophomore year at UK).

I want mkg so bad. I'd be disappointed if he went back. I think the jazz pick will be better than gs.

Instead of benching Sap, I think it's time to seriously start shopping him. 4 years from now, if the Utah Jazz are serious contenders, it's going to be with Favors/Kanter starting in the frontcourt. Jefferson and Sap are both going to have to be traded in time but as for now I think Sap would net a better return. It's also gotten to the point where it is painfully obvious that Sap and Jefferson playing together hurts the Jazz more than it helps. Jefferson probably becomes a little better without Sap on the team and vice versa.

I love the grit of this years Jazz squad but they ain't making the playoffs. Deal Sap for the best package possible, put Favors in the starting lineup immediately, be glad that Utah is keeping it's lottery pick as opposed to sending it to Minny, and hope like hell that Utah get's GS's lottery pick as well. That my friends, would be one sexy situation.

Sap, 1 for his last 15 on the low-block. Big Al wasn't the cause of that.

Favors doesn't deserve to start yet, but Mllsap/Jefferson should play very limited minutes together. Their inability to get rebounds means that Kanter or Favors needs to be paired more often with either Al or Paul.

Favors should start with Al, not because he's better than Paul, but because rebounding dictates it.

You do realize Millsap scores the ball more efficiently than Big Al though, right? That basketball is a 5 man game? That the Jazz are a way better team with Sap on the floor, but arguably a worse team with Al on the floor the last couple seasons (statistically, anyway)?

It's easy to cherry-pick single statistics that capture a tiny fraction of the game. Who cares if over 15 iso post possessions Al has been better than Sap? Over how many games were those possessions? What else happened in those games?

One of the most depressing things on this site is everyone's focus on how good Al and Sap are in isolation situations. This is the ****ing Utah Jazz, not the Miami Heat. These guys are supposed to play as a team, and unfortunately, the guy they have chosen to make the centerpiece is sorely lacking in Team BBall IQ.

Millsap is my starter. If I'm the coach, I'm sticking with that guy.

It's Al that needs to go, and I can't believe that this year hasn't made this fact clear to everyone on this site. It makes me curious how many people here just look at the box score.... He's not a good team player.

Burks/Watson (+Lillard? +Rivers?)
K.Martin/Bell
Hayward/Carroll (+QMiller?)
Millsap/Evans
Favors/Kanter

If I were in charge, you'd be in for a lot of this. Trades involving Howard, CJ, Harris, and Jefferson would be coming soon.
