Millsap/GSW Pick for Fredette/#5 Pick?

I'm not one to post rumors, but has anyone else heard this? Not sure how it works numbers wise with Sac being under the cap. I work for a company that is a main sponsor for the Jazz and it's all over our office. I turned on the radio and have been looking online, but don't see anything. Makes me wonder if it's legit, who does Utah take at #5?

I don't do it. Jimmer would be a disaster here. Especially with people already calling for Corbin's head. Can you imagine the outrage this state would produce if Jimmer was on the bench and we lost by two? If this does happen, #5 had better be a Durant/Jordan player, because Jimmer could ruin this team overnight. Think Tebowmania on a statewide level.

Are you sure this isn't just some cougarboard rumor?

Milsap would work very well with Cousins. This could be legit. Value seems fair, but pretty sure this is water cooler talk.

it actually is a pretty good deal and fills a need for the Kings. Not sure about the Jazz though. I'd rather have Evans, but obviously Utah would have to give up more. If Beal, Barnes, or MKG fell to #5, I might be for it. Not sure about Lillard at #5 though.

I wouldn't do it.

Next year's pick could be top 10. SO you're basically trading a top 10 pick + a borderline All Star for Jimmer and the 5th pick of the draft. Jimmer will bust, IMO.
This is like trading a top 10 pick + border All Star for the 5th pick.

ok so a guy in my office has a brother that works in the Jazz marketing or public relations department and he got a text from him saying word around the organization is Millsap is the odd man out in Utah because of his contract being so reasonable and easy to move. The Kings have apparently wanted him for a while and have already given up on the Jimmer.

Now, I don't think this type of stuff is so open down there at ESA, so take this with a grain of salt.

It got me thinking, though...if Sac wants Millsap, I trade him straight across for Evans! Big Tyreke fan here

For Beal, Harrison or MKG I do it anyways.

Utah would have to be targeting Barnes then sign an undrafted magette and that way Jimmer has another almost undrafted to undrafted player beat him out.

Here's the big question I have: could Jimmer become our starting PG in 1-2 seasons? If so, we' d essentially be flipping Paul for two young, quality starters. I give this an emphatic thumbs up.

We're clearly not better next year if we make this trade. #5 will need time to develop, and Jimmer likely only provides back-up PG minutes and a 3-point shooting presence. However, Barnes or MKG would pair nicely with Hayward on the wing for the foreseeable future. If Jimmer became a quality PG, the following lineup could be deadly:

PG - Jimmer
SG - Hayward
SF - Barnes/MKG
PF - Favors
C - Kanter

I can't pass judgment on Jimmer's PG skillz - I hardly watched the Kings at all last season. Anyone with a more informed opinion have any thoughts?

Aside from the following being incredibly, incredibly annoying, how does this one man ruin the team?

Tebowmanie never ruined the Broncos...

LOL Jimmer would easily be the worst starting PG in the NBA

Hmm I wonder if there is an chance of Millsap for the 5th pick and a bad contract? I don't have any desire to have Jimmer on our team. I think Jimmer has a place in the league but that won't ever be on the Jazz.

If we're in love with someone at 5 this is a good trade. However, I feel bad for any starting point guard that Utah has until the Jimmer either develops or leaves.
