I'm very happy for him....he has fully deserved this achievement!

I'm sure if he had stayed with the Jazz he would have never played an All-Star Game.

Pity for Big Al, again snubbed unfairly.

err wait. Think al was a backup or something.

grats to millsap. He is having quite a monster season over in atlanta.

8mil/year player and made the all star team.

and people are willing to throw 11-12 at brickward? LOL

Al Jefferson carries an offense better than Sap. Rebounds better too.

Big Al should have made it over Chris Bosh, not Millsap who absolutely deserves it. Bosh been a joke since he started riding coattails of Wade and LBJ yet he keeps getting selected for whatever unknown reason. Most overrated All-star for last 5 years IMHO.

Different position, different set of players to choose from. And totally different situation. Millsap has been asked to be a complementary player. Hayward was asked to be the primary scorer and playmaker for much of the season. Now that Burke has taken the PG reins, Hayward's load has lightened and he's playing a lot better.

Agree with you completely, AKMVP. Bosh is overrated. It will be interesting to see what his next contract will be like. Perhaps the smallest ever for a player with his number of all-star selections.

This year we all complain that we don't have an All-Star type of player and we have to tank to get it in the draft.

We had Millsap for 7 seasons and he never made an All-Star appearance, this year he change team and he suddenly earns this reward.
I'm not sure there is less competition between forwards in the Eastern Conference. I think we didn't use him correctly, he was not the reference point in our offense, his game had a decline with Jazz uniform because of Al Jefferson presence.

If Corbin insist to play Marvin at 4 position then it was better to keep Millsap. A big man rotation with Favors, Kanter and Millsap would have been very efficient. In addition Millsap could play at 3 position sometimes too.

Anyway the Jazz has decided to invest in Favors, so I hope one day he will become All-Star too.

Atlanta sure got a bargain basement deal for sap...2 years/$19M, less than $10M/year for an all-star player.

That's the advantage you have if you play for the Miami Heat

we let millsap go so we can keep enes on the bench and move marvin wiliams to the 4 and try to win as many games as possibl

SCREW THIS

with hornaceck as coach. and millsap and junkyard dog we would have been in the playoff hunt. not going for a 10-14th pick yet again.

coach hornaceck
pg burke/garret
sg burks/Demarrew carrol
sf hayward/marvin wiliams/rush
pf Millsap/kanter/favors/gobert
C Favors/Kanter/gobert

TELL ME THAT ROSTER IS NOT BETTER THAN PHX.
i double dare you.
yet horny is in 6th place with phx. at 28-18 and probably a lock for the playoff. even with bledsoe injured horny is 7-3 over last 10.

yet we are stuck with corbin without pimpslap withouth DMC.
and we get a 10-14th pick

FAN****ING TASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

would rather make the playoff than get a 10th-14th pick

congrats pimpslap

**** every person that only sees Millsap for how tall he isn't and nothing of the terrific player he's carved himself into before everyone's eyes.

Maybe not less individual competition, but the Hawks are getting rewarded for being one of the better teams in the East. Let's keep in mind being one of the better teams in the East means they are actually above .500 (the Hawks are a whopping 2 games over and hold the 4 seed at the moment). In the West the Hawks would be the 10th seed.

Which is why he never makes it in the West. This year ever single guy (at least as a reserve) is on a team that's currently in the playoffs, and I believe that is the typical trend.

That being said here are the reserves from each side from the F/C position:

East

Bosh
Sap
Noah
Hibbert

West

Howard
Aldridge
Dirk

Not sure about competition, but I'd take the West's reserves in a heartbeat over the East's. When you add starters though it gets closer.
