Milsap for D Williams

Assuming we trade Millsap for Derrick Williams and keep Jefferson, we would already have Hayward Marvin and Carroll playing the 3 and a big-man rotation of Favors/Jefferson/Kanter. Derrick Williams doesn't fit anywhere.
Don't just think about this season. Next year, Jefferson may/may not re-sign, Carroll is an UFA and Marvin has a player option.
No matter how you look at it, the Jazz need a 4th big. And they might need another SF. Derrick fits that role. Forget about where he was drafted. He's under contract for another couple of seasons at $4.8M. That's pretty reasonable for his position.

The problem with this deal is that the TWolves have no one else that can be included to make salaries match: obviously they won't be using Rubio or Stiensma as "throw-ins." With Rubio back, they could include Barea or Shved in the deal. But would they want to? What else would they demand in return? And why do they want Millsap in the first place? Will they make a run at re-signing him and trade Love?

You're right. The Jazz might be trading Millsap for the only other Derrick/Derick in the league, Derrick Favors. Makes sense.
Actually the title said Millsap for D Williams. I thought Brooklyn might be shopping Deron. I came in here to say not just NO, but ^%$& NO! There ain't a bridge in Salt Lake that Deron didn't burn down. Just look around, it took UDOT YEARS to rebuild all those freeway entrances/exits. Who wants to suffer through that massive reconstruction again?
