Minnesota finalizing 2 year $20MM deal with AK - per Y!Woj

A slight modification to my opinion: I am ****ing PUMPED I don't have to worry that I'll see his moon-faced pouting, his maddening shot selection, or his one mind-blowingly good game to go with two putrid games and three completely mediocre ones. I'm glad I don't have to be reminded the one player that made more money than and outlasted Sloan, Boozer, and Deron. I don't have to worry about his potato-faced mess of a wife dragging out even more sulking and bitterness to the press either.

What he does with the Timberwolves is irrelevant, I don't have to worry about his bull **** messing up the Jazz anymore. And for that I am stoked. Thank you David Kahn.

What an irrational, assinine comment from a normally solid poster.

I'm not really sure how AK getting a 2 year/20 million deal has revived AK love on the board. The guy sucks and is overpaid again. I would give him 6 million per at the max. He will again be put with a dominant PF and a ball handling PG, unless AK really didn't give a **** in Utah for those last 5-6 years, I doubt he is going to do much better with the Wolves.

usually you are spot on but here you are dead wrong. Last 5-6 years AK's ronald rating was top 1-3 on the Jazz except in 2007 where he was freezed of Utah offense. I bet he will have better year with Wolves then Marvin or Gordon with Jazz. And Rubio is pass first PG with no EGO. Big difference from Williams.

Dwill summed it up best when he said Ak was the last to arrive, and the first to leave practice.

Guy had no heart for us after his contract. We've all see what he can do when he plays hard. Sad that it was mostly effort, fragility, and ego that killed AK in the end.

Funny you should mention that run. The one where AK was - presumably - utilized worse than any other year of his career. And the Jazz did fine. Too bad the Jazz made him show up late and leave early from practice and totally mail it in because he had his precious vacation to attend to. It's just such a shame that the Jazz made him be a bad and increasingly worse shooter, made him a worse rebounder and defender, because he wasn't getting touches (because he was a bad and worsening shooter, took bad shots, and broke off plays). What a raw deal he was dealt. $86 million doesn't even touch what the Jazz owe him.

Hell to the yes.

Numberica doin work in this thread.

p.s. you are a AK or CJ Miles fan? dont reply this message.

Who says anything about reviving love -- the hate is irrational. So, perhaps you irrational people are wrong in your assessment of AK if a professional basketball team is willing to pay him that salary. I've seen almost every game AK played with the Jazz, plus a good number overseas I could get through streaming. I saw everything before DWill and Boozer, and now you know what kind of prima donna DWill was and how unloved he was by a lot of the media, I don't see how you can accept what he says at face value. I was spot on in my assessment very early on that DWill was freezing out AK, long before he made that comment. It was obvious to everyone who watched closely except the DWill lovers who at the time overpopulated the board. I have agreed with others about his failings but at the same time, those who knock AK ignore his strengths, or exaggerate to ridiculous lengths his shortcomings. Like a few others have said, barring injury, AK will be worth every penny they pay him.

Not sure what run you are talking about ... so who's the source for him showing up late and leaving early -- you have a source? I remember DWill saying some negative things, but he is hardly a good source.

AK never was a good shooter. Was it because of lack of work -- that's debatable. We all know Horny worked with him on his shot. One issue that people overlook was a wrist injury he had, that hadn't healed, I think it was the beginning of 2006 or 2007, but it was around the time when he couldn't make an open medium range j. I think it was also the time of the controversy with DWill and not getting touches, so it was a mental thing.

I don't know about him being a bad rebounder or defender -- some of those problems he had were temporary due to injuries

So he was overpaid -- did it come out of your pocket? I'm sure AK would agree; you didn't see him asking for a max contract this time around, just what other players with similar numbers were getting. It doesn't detract from his abilities or value as a player. I suppose you wouldn't want to get paid what a guy in your field with similar accomplishments is getting?

Your post is sheer ignorance and bile.

I remember the line about him being the last one there and the first one gone, not about late or early.
I might do the same thing to not be around a prick I worked with.
We have no idea if AK worked on things on his own, even if I doubt it.
I'm happy for him and wish him success with the T-Wolves.
I am glad he will not be on the Jazz. I'm not a hater, but real enough to know he should not be here playing and he has too much baggage.

This Minnnesota team will be very inconsistent. There will be flashes of very good and fun to watch basketball, but overall they will suck.

If my boss and my coworkers treated me like ****, I'm pretty sure I'd do the least amount of work possible. You would too, so stop right now before you post a stupid response.

AK is going to freaking dominate in Minny.

If my bosses paid me $14-$17M per year - more than anyone else in the company, even those who were working harder and producing more, I'd wash their feet and shine their shoes.
