Mitchell's weakness can be a strength

The most fanatical Jazz fan knows that Mitchell is a two foot jumper. I love that we still darts to the rim, but stays close to the ground. I don't want him skying to the rim unless it is safe. I don't want him getting injured and to have a long productive career. While he is not the most athletic finisher, he can still make it his most skilled aspect of him game. Learn to get the ball in the hoop under all conditions with your feet close the ground. I think you can get faster to the rim staying on the ground then exploding to it in the air.

Yeah, have you watched the games? Mitchell is going off of one foot often and doing it well when attacking the basket.

I once heard either Stockton or Malone saying that early in their careers they both opted for playing close to the ground, which helped them to extend their careers. That was circa 1997. The quote stuck with me, but I don't recall who said it.
