Are you seriously claiming that you can say whatever you want, and if you offend someone, then that is their problem. You do realize that you can be fired, lose the rights to teach, be sued etc. because of the vitriolic filth that comes out of people's mouths. The board is not a free for all; that's why we have moderators, so that people can feel comfortable expressing their views about a basketball team without receiving insults that are the seeds of hate crime. It's been very enlightening to see how racism is alive an well in America at all levels.

Maybe so..... still I would rather pay big bucks to an elite offensive player to help Hayward with the playmaking duties than a poor offensive player that plays great defense.

I feel that we will be good defensively as long as we have rudy, favors, and exum (plus Hayward is a good defender) no matter who else we have at the wing.

I think we need help on the offensive end though

Elite defense has proven to be way more effective than elite offense, and it's because what you get from a good defensive possession is way better than what you get from a good offensive possession, for example a fast break that leads to easy baskets. I do agree that we could solidify our offense but I think we're in good shape. Hood I think will be a bigger threat on that end in time, also Exum, and Burks is knocking on the door, I bet he's hungry as **** waiting to get on board.

I hope the same. Look, what he said isn't right, but letting anonymous comments on a sports message board strike such a deep chord is beyond my scope of energy. i work long days and barely have time to check JF, let alone re-hash high school civics class over a message board. I appreciate the intent, i do, but there is a lot of negativity in the world, what issues are more important than others is a matter of opinion. I'd be a food not to acknowledge that hate exists, but feel comfortable enough with who i am to see past its fallacies. Racism will never be eradicated. Only when you are comfortable with who you are, can you see past other's judgments. I am fortunate enough to be able to see that; i have several friends who take to heart what some outspoken few have to say, and it is hard to see. But that's what i hope to pass on to my kids, they will never escape it, but they need to understand that the things people can say can only be true if they let them be true..

I appreciate your candor, and I don't mean to be an ***. I'm no Pollyanna either and understand racism will be around for years to come. I just don't think that someone who may have been really hurt by racism should have to come on here, just like you after a hard day's work, and have to worry about racism. Regardless, it was one of his better games. Had 2 steals, looked less petrified than usual, and played GREAT defense. He just doesn't really look to score.

I think that playing really good defense takes a lot out of Exum right now. I love how Steve Blake wanted no part of Exum last game and would get rid of the ball as soon as he crossed the timeline. Once he gets a man's body he will play better as a two way guy.

I said this in another thread, it I think I might max Matthews over Leonard. I don't think Leonard's defense is that much better than Matthews, and I think Matthews' offense is much better than Leonard's. I can see Leonard really dropping off when he becomes "the man". He's always been the Spurs third or fourth option.

I'm of the opinion that you need both to win it all. So in my mind its about finding the right balance between offensive specialists on the bench for situationals and defensive stalwarts in the starting lineup.

A racist allows racism to happen. Not making a chose is the same as making one. I understand people have difficult crosses to bear, but it's a simple choice on a basketball board.
