Most hated (NOT on Jazz Team) Players in NBA... and....why?

I do not hate anybody but I do dislike some players more for their character and stupidity then for what they are doing on court. Used to dislike Dirk but after these years finals I feel respect for him as for the best player in Europe's basketball history ( sorry Sabonis, Dirk is better)
In no particular order: Lebron, Boozer, D.Williams, Carmelo, A.Varejao, Delonte West, Jermaine O'Neal, S.Jackson, K.Brown, A.Bynum, R.Lewis. From those who are not playing anymore - mister "I need family to feed so 7mil/year contract is insulting" L.Sprewell easily tops the list.

Gotta give you props for the ability to post two such diametrically opposite opinions in the span of eight minutes. Only a true fan could recover from a moment of logical and fair minded sportsmanship so quickly. It warms my heart to see fanaticism at this level. Nicely done!

Hmmm, Thank You? .... Back to world of warcraft you go! MAKE US PROUD!!

Yeah I don't hate anyone either but tops on my list of strong disliking is-

Jerry Stackhouse. He beat up Jeff Hornacek for Pete's sake- Jeff Hornacek! I mean wtf? And he still brags about it to this day when asked about it.

To be clear, they did not have a fight. "Beat up" is a little misleading. Jeff was running the baseline and Stackhouse punched him in the face hard with no warning. Its not like they were pushing each other and it led to a fight, it just came out of nowhere. and now this psycho ahole is a freaking broadcaster now on NBA tv , wtf!

Similar with Weber. He was also a cheating dirty psycho, but at least I never saw him haul off and punch somebody in the face without warning like Stackhouse. However, I still think its sad that this jerk gets to be a talking head on TV.

I remember Malone throwing Webb to the floor from mid-air. Awesome. IIRC C-Web had just put Stockton on the ground. Can't find a video, but if I could I'd send it to Barkley, it'd be fun to see him surprise Webber with it.

pretty sure I could "beat up" Stackhouse under the same circumstances, it doesn't mean that i could beat him up in a fair fight

What's funny is that he landed a few punches on Hornacek and Jeff was none the worse for wear after it. He was still talking, wondering why he was getting kicked out of the game. Stackhouse is the epitome of fake tough.

Right I remember. Beat up was not the correct term, I agree. I can see a guy exploding in a situation like that because he's afraid, but to brag about it later like he accomplished something there... ugh. Those are the actions of a child not a man.

And yeah he had Meldrick Taylor power. Who knows what would have happened had Horny unleashed the fury?

So its obvious that many of us remember the hard nosed defense that the Jazz played from 1990 until 2000. We all know that the game of basketball has changed, but has it changed so much that great defense is dead? Yea there were obviously a few bad calls, but can you agree that it has been a while since you have seen a great defensive team in the playoffs since the post 2000 era? The Jazz ended up getting AK as our defensive saviour, but even then, what teams were really that great- defensively?
