Mitchell will be the first to tell you that he has to get better when it comes to shot selection, so in that regard as well as their physical style of play, yes, he's got some similarities to Smart, especially when he left college. However DM has a higher ceiling offensively with a much more polished shooting form and to me his IQ is a bit higher, while not being much of a floor general right now by NBA standards, even in limited minutes. I think he's going to need time, he needs to learn how to play under control on both ends to better help the team and stay on the floor, and I don't necessarily view him as a future All-Star, but at the same he'll be able to contribute right away in 20-25 MPG and he definitely has the tools and the upside to become an excellent two-way player.
