A lot of people have been suggesting trades, so here's one I've thrown around. Food for thought.

Lakers do this and start Millsap and Bynum with Al as a third big. They would have a possible future piece with Millsap.

We then sign Kirilenko for around $6 million to a two year deal and sign Nash for two years $8-10 million. We keep Harris and play him at the two for about 5-10 minutes/game and about 18 at the point. This will allow us to rest Nash a little but also have a decent bench as well. Because we have so many young players, the salaries would be feasible. In two years, Nash, Kirilenko, and Gasol all come off the books, and this situation allows us to play Kanter and Burks more with our bench running a bit more. We would look like the Washington Generals, but we would have some major shot blocking going on.

STARTERS
Nash
Hayward
Kirilenko
Favors
Gasol

BENCH
Harris
Burks
Carroll
Evans
Kanter

We'd just need to move Kanter into Favors spot and mission accomplished. You are trying to have THEE whitest team in modern history, eh?

This whole thing hinges on us being able to sign Nash.

No point doing all that just to get Harris to run the offense.

You had me until you mention AK. Sorry but Jazz fans need to stop living in the past. Malone, Stockton and AK are not coming back. I would rather trade Harris and Jefferson for Gasol and keep Millsap. The Jazz can sign Nash and then have a starting lineup of Nash Hayward, Millsap, Favors, Gasol. Jazz then sure up bench with FAs(shooters) and hopefully the Jazz get real lucky and get the 8th pick.

Bring back Tinsley/Watson to play the PG (Jazz have their rights- choose one). Draft or sign a young PG. Sign Brandon Rush away from GS.

Tinsley/Young PG
Burks
Rush/Carroll
Millsap/Evans
Kanter/Favors

Ya, I know a lot of people absolutely want nothing to do with AK. I have very little sentimentality attached to him, so I don't care if we switch him out, but we will need a decent backup PG because Nash is going to only play about 30 minutes/night. We have options, but this could be one. Rush starts at over $4 million, so we would have to offer him at least 6-8 to pry him away from GSW in my opinion. Also, I think our backup PG's are pretty flawed, and if Nash were to go down for any reason we could be screwed.

way too much to give up for Gasol.
And, why would you want to give the Lakers two expiring contracts, and thus, a way out of their financial quagmire?

EDIT: I'll give Jefferson to the Lakers. All day. Millsap isn't a throw in. He's considered one of the best contracts in the league. If the Jazz want to trade him, then they should be able to get youth + picks. Gasol is over 30 and being paid a ****load.

The main reason I proposed this is because I think these players work very well together. We would have the best passing team in the NBA, be very long and relatively athletic, probably lead the league in blocks, have star power, allow our youth to progress, have great leadership, and not be committed past two years (which will give us some flexibility when we need to sign our young players). The passing component is important because both Favors and Kanter need to improve on this greatly. Plus Gasol does not have the limitations of either Paul or Al. I'm also wondering how much we're going to have to pay Paul since his contract is up this year. Would you sign Paul for $10-12 million?

Taking Millsap out of the deal is a massive step in the right direction.

Ok, let's say you keep Paul and somehow get Gasol for Al and Harris (both contracts expire after next year and a front-court of Al and Bynum would be slow). Keep in mind, Houston can offer any combination of Martin, Scola, and Lowry to L.A. So now what do we do with Millsap? Do we resign him for 10-12 million or do we let his contract expire? We have to decide if we're committed to Paul. Also, I see us getting very little for Al, so this is a way we could make it possible. Otherwise, it seems we get another year of Big Al. I love Millsap, but if we can put a team together that is overall better, then that's what matters for me (see post #10). My proposed team (with Nash) needs a decent backup PG. If we don't get Nash, then I wouldn't want to do this trade anyway. I just don't think Al is going to fetch much in a trade. You have to package him with someone. I personally want Al gone because of his defensive liabilities. This trade is just an option, which I can guarantee is crossing people's minds.
