Name a better wing rotation than Hayward Hood Burks

Burks is alright as a 6th man. Not sure you need both Trey and Alec. Jazz could use a bigger physical, athletic defensive wing -- even better if he can shoot.

Trey gets it done much, much better as sixth man. His value is (finally) higher than Burks. I want to see him stick around and be signed to a steal of a contract. He will improve still.

Well the Thunder paid Enes Kanter a **** ton to come off the bench. I wouldn't say it's a position of strength, but the situation applies. So there's one, and I'm too lazy to look up the rest.

You're also ignoring 90% of what I'm saying, so I don't really see the point in continuing this with you. I don't feel like repeating the same things over and over, hoping that some intake will happen on your side.
State clearly what you think the jazz should have done with the wing position last summer.

The way I understand you, you think they should have added a free agent. (Matthews seums to be the one you favor)

So the jazz pay matthews a **** load of money. He shoots horribly, doesn't get assists, rebounds poorly, doesn't get to the line but we assume he plays good defense.

Him, hood, and hayward share the minutes.

The jazz trade burks (the younger, cheaper, statistically better player) for pg help.
Is that about right?

I actuality sincerely think that looks good on paper since matthews might be the better fit. Still a HUGE risk though that matthews is the better player short term and a really really big risk that he is better long term. Plus his contact really changed our financial flexibility going forward.

And again teams just don't pick up expensive 4th wings very often when I already have three that they like and are good, young, and on good contracts.

Your example of the thunder is a good one.
Do you think what they did (adding kanter for lots of money) was smart? Do you think it will work out going forward?

They have a huge logjam at the big position now. Why haven't they simply traded one of the bigs for a good player at another, weaker position?

Fish. Thinking of your 4 good wings question. All I can think of is Klay, Iggy, Barnes, Livingston/Barbosa (not sure which plays PG.)

Obvi not as good as our 3. But you asked for a 4th wing who is pretty good. That's the best I got.

Well done.
Though I consider Livingston and barbosa more point guards than wings.... More so than Burks hood or hayward anyway.

That is a good example though.
I guess they are the best team in the league, and maybe of all time for a reason.
We should simply do what they did

Hayward, Hood, Burks, + a solid wing defender (PJ Tucker?) would be awesome
I agree.
I think we thought we had that with millsap. And now with johnson.

We did have it with Millsap. I was probably the biggest Millsap supporter of anybody for his value on D. He really, really dropped off this season. Johnson is ok but I think the value is to be able to put them on a star and make them work. I don't think Johnson really provides that does he?

Not as well as millsap

Really this is hilarious.
So we acquire one of those big name free agent wings from last year and pay then big time money.
Then they put up numbers worse than Burks.
So we trade the guy who is producing better, is younger, on a better contract, and likes it here in order to keep the older, worse producing, higher paid guy.

Lol

If Exum doesn't work out how do we get a pg? Trade away Burks?

Because of the ballooning cap even what looked like dumb deals last summer will have value next summer. I'm sure DL tried to bring in talent and just couldn't get the guys he wanted. I think it is moronic that some posters on here think that DL avoided adding talent as a strategy.

He probably tried to add talent. But I think he was happy rolling with Burks hood hayward millsap ingles and johnson at the wings.

In fact he did add talent didn't he? We didn't have neto or lyles on the team last year iirc and they are both contributing mightily to our success this year.

DL is doing a great job by my estimation.

We don't have so many injuries and we would be fighting for home court advantage in the playoffs and maybe get to the second round.... With one of the youngest teams in the league and financial flexibility next year.

I'm buying what DL is selling

I have no problem with DL. It is stupid to think that he would have passed on adding a quality wing if he could have. All this nonsense about bakking a cakk is just that, nonsense.

I wonder why we didn't hear about any offer sheets or anything to a wing last summer.

I guess the jazz are notorious for keeping things quiet.

They did seem pretty high on getting alec back though. Almost like they figured getting him back made more wing talent less necessary. Of course that is what they would say for pr reasons.

I guess we will never know who the jazz went after last summer.
What I do know is that I'm happy with the current wings that the jazz have and that the wings being discussed to go after last year are all having down years.

Things worked out for the best regardless of what the jazz intentions were

Nothing will ever be said unless a guy signs an offer sheet. The Jazz delayed signing Booker. Why? My guess is that they wanted that extra flexibility during the 1st part of FA to see what they could do.
