One Love. Kinda like spanking the monkey.

Well I've gotten many supportive comments/rep about my new name from lots of people yesterday and today. Thank you so much guys - it really means a lot - you know who you are, much appreciated.

It's just really sad to see someone who has taken it the wrong way and has really taken the piss out of it. I just don't see the point, but I guess if that's what make you happy then there's really nothing I can do to stop you.

At least hotttnickkk had an edge to it. One Love just sounds. . . . . well. . . . . are you still strung out by that (ho)ney in Bangkok? I heard on the news that that new military government has turned into a moral police concept, banning porn stars, hollywood stars, anyone who ever spoke up in favor of gay marriage or visited the westward(ho) coast resorts. . . .

I don't believe laws can change what people are in their hearts or minds, no matter how big the hammer. All the idolized perfect Leaders are eventually torn down, remelted, whitewashed, or incinerated, eventually, by some damn mob or another.

neither can you change what a woman is. For hell's sake, go find one who is something you respect already.

Well I wanted to stop having an "edge" around here.

One Love is translated as:

One love refers to the universal love and respect expressed by all people for all people, regardless of race, creed, or social status.

I think that has a good meaning. I really didn't like who I became under Hotttnickkk - this ******* of a guy who trolled the hell out of every single threads. It's not who I am in real life and I really wanted it to stop.

In terms of Thailand - I've been back in NZ for 3 months now so I don't really know exactly what is happening there at the moment. As far as I know, prior to the coup, Thailand was one of the most corrupted country in the world. It's really rotten to the core with politicians, soldiers, policemen abusing their positions and powers and getting rich receiving bribes and such.

One good thing this Army General had done was he came in and got rid of a lot of these corrupted individuals by force (because they would never be convicted in the court of law - the judges are corrupted too). He investigated everybody who had bought a car worth more than 5 million Bath and question them about how they got the money to pay for those luxurious items. How is it possible than an army officer living on low income is driving a 20 million Bath Mercedes Benz, for example. Even my mom's friends got called to be interviewed under these investigations.

The regime is not perfect - nothing is. I'm against dictatorship, etc, but sometimes the situation is so dire that a drastic action is needed to at least start with a clean slate.

If you want more respect for the name, I suggest changing your avatar to something like this:

That is a choice, not a name-invoked unavoidable fate.

FWIW I was just poking fun. You gotta do what you gotta do to be happy. GL with your new name.

My rents live have lived in Bangkok for the last three years, I've visited them a time or two (headed back to spend Christmas with them), and the latest I've heard is that the king is beloved (what triple k said about dictatorship is PUNISHABLE in Thailand) and is currently trying to outlive his son, who is legitimately a terrible person. If he becomes the king, there will likely be another military coup (this time in attempt to DISPLACE dictatorship).

This (former) General had asked for and received support from the King before he became the caretaker prime minister. The situation at the moment is not really a 'dictatorship' per se as he's only there to 'clean up' the system before the next PM is elected. As far as Thais are concern he's doing a pretty good job and I have no reason to say otherwise.

So is your name one love or bob marley?

On the basis of the One Love post that I just saw quoted by Scootsy I'm removing him from my ignore list. I really want to like him for a lot of reasons (one of which is that New Zealand is among my favorite places, and another is that it amazes me that someone so far away with no apparent connection would follow the Jazz so avidly). I'm hopeful that, as One Love suggests in his post, his trolling days are over. I tired of that act quickly.
