I think next year's draft is better in the top 5 than this year's draft.

You’ve also said that Epstein died by his own hand. There’s definitely a stigma associated with believing in a conspiracy and being associated with “teh stoopids” so much so that people gravitate to a form of hyperrationality.I still dont believe in conspiracies. The lottery system is just stupid.

I vehemently disagree on the wheel, but at least it’s transparent which is more than I can say about this shady ****ing garbage.I still dont believe in conspiracies. The lottery system is just stupid.

Obviously I wanted us to win and obviously I’m sitting on here for results, but I didn’t have nearly as much anxiety as I normally would. It’s kind of why I’m glad I’ve stepped back a large bit the past few years. We all love draft and the hopes of endless possibilities, but a bird in hand is worth so much more than a multitude in the bush but everyone felt they got burned bad enough to think our chances of winning it all are higher taking this route. Here we are. In recent threads, people have referred to our picks we got from Donovan/Rudy as “basically second rounders,” so ironically the most we may get out of all this is… our own picks. So you can tank the entire season and win the tank race and be here. It’s disappointing but really not that shocking to me. This is the reality of that path we took. We determined it’d be easier to get to a championship this way.
In reality, had we won this year, we would still need to take next year and land a high pick. That is, if we’re going to be contenders. It’s still such an uphill battle and the odds of us going g from here to contender in any soon-ish history (a decade) is so, so much smaller than our odds of having gone from where we were to championship before we blew it up. Just kind of the way it is and accepted that a few years ago, and the investment I’ve put into other avenues of my life have been much better for it.
That wasn't an option.Except it didn't. The Jazz had a 52.1% chance of getting a top four pick.
Oh, so San Antonio became a new Cleveland for conspiracy theorists as a small market team that the NBA is hellbent on flooding with rigged top picks? It's always about the money. They had to support Wemby, so SA in the top 3 was a lock.
We are still getting VJ at 5. Hornets don't really need him.
