I would like to get him. He can play the 4 spot with the 1 in 4 out lineup with rudy?

Yeah he'd fill in some of the gap we have at 3 and 4 while giving a different look.

Honestly I'm not sure Burks gets on the floor enough to figure things out. I suppose we could run Burks Exum and DM together.

Rotation will be interesting

In my honest, non homer opinion, I think if we don't make any more moves then burks should get some minutes at the 2.

I figure we could go big with the starters and play bully ball and wear teams down with defense. Rubio (big, defensive pg), hood (big 2 guard), jingles (big, defensive small forward), favors (great defensive, huge 4), gobert (best defender in the league, huge 5)

Then the bench comes in with crazy energy and a frenetic pace for 6-8 minutes bursts and run run run. Exum (extremely fast pg), mitchell (very fast, athletic sg), Burks (very fast, very athletic sf), JJ (if jazz can't get a quick bucket with the pace then Joe is the go to guy in the half court), bolomboy (fast, athletic 5)

Talk about change of pace.
Never gonna happen but a guy can dream.

Really though if burks is healthy then I think he should be able to beat everyone else out for the backup 2 guard minutes. (I figure ingles is 3/4 and so is jj so burks would only have to beat a very young undersized rookie for that backup 2 spot. I figure X is the backup pg.)

As much as we all love mitchell (I do too btw) I think burks SHOULD be a better player right now than him. Definitely has more experience and has been in the system longer and is more familiar with his teammates.

Jerebko isnt anything close to being a 3.....
 
No move we make right now is going to make us a contender. TBH, Jazz are better off evaluating who they have, rehabbing the trade values of Favs and Burks and getting a lottery pick, I know that sounds harsh, but Utah likely winds up with a better record than half the EC playoff teams. So struggle to make the playoffs as the 8th seed and get hammered by GS. What's the prize? A few million in cap room and the 18th pick.

Play Burks, Favors, JJ and trade all of them at the deadline. Utah finishes 9/10th in the WC. Jazz at LEAST get the 13th-14th pick. And they get more assets from deadline trades. Lindsey may be able to get late 1sts from contenders for Favs and JJ. Might be able to dump Burks for a 2nd and expiring.

Mitchell plays over Burks bc he's our future, and he can actually play defense and play intelligently. Burks does neither of those.

I just haven't seen Mitchel play smart for the jazz in an nba game.
In summer league his shot selection hasn't been the best.

We just don't know much about the nba utah jazz version of mitchell. I'm gonna wait for more than zero games to come to a conclusion.

Shot selection when you're the only player worth a **** means next to nothing to me. It needs to be improved, but it's hardly worse than Burks currently.

You can wait, but it's pretty obvious already. The defensive difference alone is enough to play him over Burks.
