Need help! As a jazz fan I' so confused!

Thee Jazz Fan

First let me say I have no intention of dropping the jazz as a fan. I'm all jazz fan through and through. I just want to make that clear.

This has been the toughest year for me as a jazz fan. Ty drives me nuts Al is so boring, and both he and Mo have ruined the offense. I'm to the point where I don't want to see Al and Millsap and Marvin in the playoffs. I've decided I want them to get in the lotto..... So my problem is, if this is my thought process..... Why in the hell do I even watch the games, and then root for them to win. It pisses me off just thinking about it.

Am I the only one having this problem? Have I gone insane? Or is this normal.

I don't know... I've never wanted to miss the playoffs before now. Someone tell me this is normal!!

I think many of us feel EXACTLY like you do. What we need to do is communicate this to the Jazz management in whatever way we can. Making comments on the DesNews and Trib pages -- note after the articles you can comment. Call the Jazz personally and make your views known. Call in on the talk shows and express your opinion. Go to the games with a sign. Sure, one person can't do it by himself but get others to do it and maybe you can start a grass roots fan movement asking that the Jazz makes these changes. I know, it's a frustrating time to be a Jazz fan.

I don't rep a lot, but thanks love that idea, and agree time to let the jazz know how we feel.

lol, our fanbase feels incredibly entitled.

I don't know what the **** they are planning but losing in order to get rid of the vets is pretty damn low. Don't you control your own organization?! Kick their *** away to Philly!

lol, our fanbase feels incredibly entitled.

It's the fans that the team serves, don't you think? It's the fans who pay the their salaries, by going to the games, watching them on TV, etc, etc. We ought to be entitled. If a team loses its fanbase, it loses its profit and it needs to move the franchise to a place where the fanbase will support them.

In Turkey, organized fans can even make the FO and Club President to resign only by cheering during the games.

Entitled to results from a product that they invest their time, emotions, and money in? How shocking.

You've really become unbearable.

I would agree with you guys if it seemed like the Jazz front office seemed disinterested, but let's be honest with ourselves, the Jazz front office and Ty Corbin are doing everything in their power to put a winning product on the floor. We have to face it, we're not LA, NY, Miami, etc. Does that mean we can't win one? No, obviously not, but we're going to have to remain patient.

SirOmar, I'm sure if coach would have left you in back in '82, you would have won state.

I'm with the OP on this one... man, last year, I was all about the playoffs. I thought it would be an entirely different season and Al would show up and show heart. In fact, it was the opposite. San Antonio did what every great team should do, and that's step on the throats of a weak-hearted team with a coach who was/is in WAYYY over his head, until their neck breaks!

It was a humbling experience and I don't know about you, but I can't see that crap again! The only way I want this team in the playoffs is if Al (and preferably Mo and Millsap) are out with injury or something so the real team can play.

I hate that I feel like this, I've been a fan since I was in diapers...and this team has been the only team in 30 years that I can admit, is KILLING ME to watch.

If you're going to dedicate all of your posts to mocking those who criticize the team, you really need a better justification than "Maybe things will be better in the future. Just leave it to the professionals". I don't think anyone here cares about your unconditional love for whoever happens to be occupying management positions on the team. We, as fans, want the team to succeed. It is the ONLY reason we watch. I have yet to see a single post of substance addressing why the multitude of critiques, on the fan and expert levels, are invalid. Or why your attitude of "everyone is just doing their best" is in any way relevant. These people are making millions of dollars in order to emotionally engage an audience who will pay hundreds of dollars a year to support their business. So their 'best' can suck it. We want results. We want to see them working toward those results. It's as simple as that.

I still remember the interview Al did when he was first traded to the jazz and was asked what the biggest difference between him and Boozer was.... I don't have the exact quote, but he said Boozer did a lot outside the paint, where as he (Al) lived in the paint and did his work in the paint.

Fast forward to today and I'd say nope! You don't do your work in the paint. If this were so, he would've lit up the Knicks! I mean what the he'll is Al doing shooting a three up against the shot clock. Yes. It's not his fault someone passed him the ball and he had no choice but to shoot with the shot clock winding down, but what the hell is he doing standing out at the three point line. All too often he posts up and gets the ball 17-18 feet from the basket.

What this tells me is he's not only lazy and soft on defense, but is now lazy and soft on offense as well, so what good is he. The biggest difference between him and Boozer is with Boozer he plays within the context of an actual offensive system, where as Al just disrupts the fluidity of an offense.
